do people really use speaker cables as instrument cables and expect satisfactory results?

BEST ANSWER: Even though these aren't intended as instrument cables, they are still shielded. As long as you're not running a cable longer than 18 feet you shouldn't have any noise issues. I believe that is would be the only issue with using a speaker cables as instrument. cable, and it shouldn't be a problem with these. Correct me if I'm wrong.

All I can say my friend is that the 1/4 in" TS cable which is a mono cable will work in a snag as an instrument cable . These cables are made with a thicker gauge wire and are not as flexible as a normal instrument cable which are easier to deal with. Hope this helps.

6 ft cables
Definitely would not want to go any shorter than 6ft to my amp. Giving these a 5. All around quality looks quite nice. Cable gauge, thick jacket, nice quality gold plugs, and seems to be built well. Price is wonderful!

Crude solder joints
One of the two I ordered was DOA. I had to resolder one of the connectors. The original had been overheated and the shield was melted through the center conductor insulation.

These cables all die
I have about 40 of these purchased over the past 6 years.
They all go bad.
At first you think Oh wow gold thick cables, this is an amazing deal!
Then a few years in one goes bad and you think it's an anomaly.
Then a few more years and they are all like that.
I wish this wasn't the case, but it is. They are junk.
