Yes but understand it is only an adapter so the weakest link is the RCA end so it is equal to an RCA to RCA connector.

no reason that shouldn't work as long as your TV has RCA outs.

Can this be used to take an rca spdif output and convert to aes/ebu digital input?
A shopper
on Jan 1, 2019
No. AES and Spdif are two different digital audio protocols and not interchangeable

After accidentally stumbling into another technical conversation online, I must amend my comment. I am not sure of the pinout of the cable but SPDIF and AES can be used interchangeably with most digital audio receiver ICs currently manufactured. The impedance will be mismatched (from 75 to 110 ohm) but if you are going a short distance, theoretically there will be no loss in audio quality since the transmission is digital (1s and 0s)
Im not sure I use it for my controller.

Will this work for my onkyo rz810 avr to the monolith 7 xlr conections ?
A shopper
on Mar 21, 2019
Yes but there is no advantage to using an rca to xlr for that. You should use an rca to rca. Rca to xlr is an unbalanced connection so there isn't a reason to choose that over a regular rca. This cable is for connecting avr to pro amps that only have xlr inputs.

Not sure about your gear and what you’re doing with it but it should send the signal from the rca port to the xlr input of whatever you connect it to

Why is the shielding connected to the ring of the RCA connector? Shouldn’t the shield be connected only to to pin 1 on the XLR connector and left unconnected on the RCA side? See diagram No. 17 on figure 4 in Rane note 110.

BEST ANSWER: In my experience, and based on 40 years in the electronics career, the low of the RCA connector will be tied to the chassis ground. Leaving it unconnected might lead to ground loops etc. The primary advantage to the XLR connection is the isolated ground and differential signals. XLR to RCA (single ended) is not optimal, but hey, if that’s what you’ve got......
I have upgraded my audio equipment (as budget allows) to exclusively XLR, to include the sub amp. I have zero hum or noise......

XLR to RCA cables
Appears to be well made and fits description. XLR to phono plugs render shielding useless, however it looks cool. Not a bad price. Wish they were shorter, but understand why a standard length is offered.
