How do you Tilt?
Michael S

BEST ANSWER: The bracket will swivel manually left/right but I don't believe it will tilt. With the motorized action forward and down, tilting up/down shouldn't be necessary.
I've had mine installed for a few weeks now and it works great -- very smooth and barely audible.

This mount does not tilt up and down. However, if the TV is lowered to near eye level, there is no need to tilt. It does feature the ability to swivel the tv from left to right though.

I have yet to install it. It seems to me that the MonoPrice strategy is to avoid responsible product support through crowd sourcing technical support.

Tilting to the left and right is manual. When you raise it back up it re-centers automatically.

How far forward does the mount project from the wall in the down position?
William N
on Dec 5, 2022
BEST ANSWER: It’s going to depend on what mounting hardware you use to put the bars in the actual tv I used the spacers that are around 1” thick with the bolt holes and bolts supplied but with that it sticks out about 14” from wall surface my mantle is 11” and it’s about 3” in front of it when down

My studs are 24" apart and the mount is made for 16" distance between studs. Is there an accessory that addresses this issue, or is there reliable documentation on how to put the mount up securely?
John S
on Jan 15, 2023
BEST ANSWER: It's only meant for 16" studs. And you don't want to install it in the drywall with only anchors or toggle bolts, it will rip the drywall apart.
Some people have put 2x4s across their wall to bridge the studs. Maybe paint them so it looks aesthetic

I don’t have to extend out over a mantle but want a pull down over my fireplace. In my case what is the minimum distance from the wall so that the mount will operate properly?
Richard C
on Jan 19, 2023
BEST ANSWER: This mount attaches to the wall. When in use extends out and then down to final position.
You may want to look at other mounts that "Pull Down" in action to fill your needs.

What is the total height of the mount when in the upright position? That is the distance from the bottom of the wall mounted portion to the top of the arm. The specs only give these as two separate dimensions and since they overlap this does not answer my question. Thanks!

Just what I needed
Like in many homes, the mantel over my fireplace is entirely too high to place my TV. Because the center of the tv should be as close to the eye line as possible, that meant either putting a TV stand in front of the fireplace, or getting a pull-down mount. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this motorized mount that was extremely well-priced. The ability to preset it's apex and bottom positions were also important so the mount doesn't collide with the center speaker on the wall. It's also very convenient that it can rotate and swivel (note that these movements are not motorized)
All considered, this was a great purchase.

Good
Installation is relatively straightforward. The up and down motion is smooth and quiet. I appreciate the cable guide along the arm. Seems well thought out. So long as the motor is reliable I am a very happy customer. One minor quibble is that the remote has left/right arrows that do nothing. I would rather there not be nonfunctional buttons on the remote.
