Monoprice Horizon ANC True Wireless Earphones with ANC, Qualcomm QCC3040 Bluetooth 5.2, 4 Mics, cVc 8.0, Adaptive aptX, AAC, Gaming Low Latency Mode, Sweatproof, Charging Case

Monolith by Monoprice M-TWE True Wireless Earbuds with Sonarworks SoundID & EQ, Qualcomm aptX Audio, Qualcomm cVc 8.0 Echo Cancelling and Noise Suppression (Open Box)
BEST ANSWER: I cannot compare to the Horizon's, but I have had my share of earbuds. Some costing a few hundred down to some in the $40 range. The Monolith earbuds sound pretty good and the software app lets you tweak the sound profile to your liking well enough. I don't care for the optometrist style "which sounds better, A or B" sound tweaking in the app, as I know enough about the frequencies to get the sound I want...just give me a 10 band parametric EQ and I'm good. But for a C note, they are hard to beat, IMO. The battery life is good, to top it off. The only gripe I have is that there is no way to turn them on or off without the box...You have to put them in to turn them off and out to turn them on. They COULD be a bit louder, but I will gladly take more battery life over a bit more volume any day.

The M-TWE only supports the old aptX (optional) codec. The Horizon supports the newest aptX Adaptive. This is more important than the 5.0 vs. 5.2 BT version.
The M-TWE has built-in DSP/EQ which works with SoundID to customise sound to your hearing and preferences. The Horizon doesn't. This is likely the most significant difference to sound quality.
The M-TWE has an Ambient mode which plays outside sounds. The Horizon doesn't.
The M-TWE supports taps and swipes to control some features (but not Play/Pause). The Horizon doesn't.

Holding the left touch control switches modes but I can’t find out what these modes mean. There’s “transparent mode” “anc on” and “anc off” but what is “transparent mode”?

Are the earbud tips/pads that go in your ear replacable, and do these come with different size earbud tips/pads? When I have bought wired earbuds they usually come with 3 different sizes.

BEST ANSWER: Place the earbuds in the charging case and reset to factory settings (hold button for 10 secs). This is what worked for me when I had the same thing happen.

Is it possible to mute the microphones on the headphones? The wind noise is amplified and very distracting when running.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The only way to minimize outside audio is by activating the Noise Cancellation system. Outside of that, there would not be a way to do that.

What is the specs on the low latency? How many ms
A shopper
on May 14, 2023
BEST ANSWER: Being BT version 5.0 or greater at 5.2 latency should be well below 2ms. I haven't measured it but based on several weeks of use it's likely constrained by BT device linked to Monoprice earphones. I have used my Monoprice over the ear headset with BT 5.0 for almost a year sound editing and the latency shown on the editor is consistently below 0.7 mS or 700 uS.

Can you answer an incoming call by tapping the earphone? The manual says you have to use the button on the charging case - seems strange.

Inexpensive, works well
These earphones work well for my intended usage. Has decent ANC. Particularly wanted alternative earcups since my ear canals are different; these were supplied with the device.

But the terribly small print and vague instruction sheet is disappointing.

Very good for the price
I really like the earphones but the right earbud doesn't charge well and only lasts about 10min. Customer service is sending a replacement set as soon as they're available again. Until then, I'm using them periodically daily. The noise canceling function works very well.

Somewhat troublesome
I got this set of earbuds for use at the gym. The sound quality is quite good and they do stay put for the most part and are quite comfortable. However, for whatever reason they drop contact with my phone pretty often. It only lasts for a few seconds but it is somewhat distracting. This is the second set I've had in the last year or so as the first set became troublesome in that I had to reset them to the default settings every time I tried to use them because one or the other would not work. If this new pair develops that problem, I'll need to find another product.

Inexpensive but great sound and bass
The price alone is worth it if you're looking for earbud headphones on a budget but what really impressed me was these bad boys got some really good bass to them and the noise cancellation works pretty well

Great value
I bought them for my wife, who uses them for online meetings (not music). She likes them a lot. She said she wishes the battery would last a little longer, but it's not far from the advertised 7 hours. I got them during a sale, so great value!
