can I run this with intel UHD Graphics 630 or does it require a dedicated gpu?

I cannot see maximum resolution on my 2018 MacBook Pro 15”. I am using a Thunderbolt docker and Displayport 1.4 cable. The only way I can achieve 5120x1440 @ 120Hz is using software to tweak the display. Will there be a fix for this monitor at some point?

BEST ANSWER: You want to use a device that has an active Thunderbolt connection/cable. I believe, but you should validate, that your MacBook has 4 Thunderbolt ports, 2 on each side of the chassis. If you have a device to connect your MacBook to, plus an active Thunderbolt 3 cable, you should be good to go. Be aware, these are not inexpensive services.
The reason this monitor has 2 Display Port connections, plus 2 HDMI connections, is because you can connect up to 4 devices. So, for example, you could connect a MacBook to 1 DP, a Chromebook to the other DP, a PS5 to 1 HDMI, and an Xbox to the other HDMI. There is a switch on the bottom right of the monitor where you can switch between the 4 different inputs. You can also control other inputs like Contrast and Brightness there as well.

What is the best full range, full motion support arm for a edge secured arm for the Dark Matter 49" monitor? I see that the spec's list the weight at 32.6#. Is that with the stand that comes with it? if so, what is the weight of the monitor only?

BEST ANSWER: I was looking for this as well. The only one I was seeing that seems to officially support a 49 inch is the Ergotron HX, but it's pricey. The other ones list up to 34/35 inch. It might be sketchy to put this monitor on a stand not designed for the type of leverage a curved screen like this could put on the arm

BEST ANSWER: The Dark Matter 49in Curved Gaming Monitor -has a max resolution 5120x1440p, which is not 4k (3840 x 2160). For a monitor with these dimensions you'd likely need a 5k to keep the aspect ratio. Based on your question, you're either incorrectly seeing 4k @ 60Hz or your referring to a different monitor.

Turns out, specifically with the Microsoft Surface 4 laptop, the usb-c port is intentionally restricted to 4k resolution for some reason. If you use the Microsoft Surface Dock 2, with their proprietary cable, the dock allows for full 5k resolution and aspect. Looks great once that was solved.

This is what my workflow needed
This is an absolutely gorgeous monitor. I purchased it for work (cloud engineer); and I love not having to move windows around a split bezel. Color is fantastic and it's very bright.
The first one sent to me had a dead pixel. I contacted Monoprice, got an RMA going and shipped the monitor back to them. The replacement was back on my desk in 5 days. Though I was a little upset about this at first, the overall experience was good, and monitors often come faulty. The fact that Monoprice has a one year warranty on pixels AND that turn around time is swift if needed, is a blessing.
One (minor) limitation. I used to use a KVM to swap machines, but 32:9 is not supported on any KVMs I could find. To solution, this monitor has two inputs (great!), but I find the UI to swap them is a bit tough to navigate. I use an analog HDMI splitter on HDMI1 and set it to auto; works wonderfully.
All in all, I am very happy to have purchased this monitor. Would buy again.

Look great but could be better
Picture seems good and there is not much glare from light on the display. It would be nice to be able to raise the height. We went ahead and purchased a hydraulic arm so we could adjust the height.

It's HUGE!
For gaming, this monitor is amazing! Quite a bit of fiddling was necessary to get a nice, balanced set of colors, but once that was done I'm pretty happy with it. Reds are still quite vivid, but maybe my previous monitor was a little less saturated.
For business, this monitor is STILL amazing! Some concessions need to be made. For example, sharing your entire screen in Zoom makes for a very wide, narrow, and high-resolution share. Instead, you must share a window or a portion of the screen. But having three windows side-by-side without having to worry about the break between monitors is like getting an extra monitor for free.mspaint

Wow... bang for the buck ahoy!
I was not expecting to like or particularly care about this monitor. It was just supposed to sit above my OLED and handle the multiple tiles just for reference data I was not actively working on. It actually is super clear, and way more accurate than I expected. The HDR is meh, but the mointor is clear, accurate, and awesome in everyway except the stupid button implementation on the bottom. I also wish it had a remote. Otherwise... this monitor is way more awesome than I thought it would be.

Disappointed, but not in what you may think
Once I was able to properly calibrate the display I was more than satisfied with the output. For Windows 10, I had to increase font size to 125%. The stand was barely adqueate. So I bought a separate support arm bolted to the desktop. It worked perfectly.
However, most of my dissatisfaction is based on the incompatibility of the ultra-wide display with my huge library of games. Some were made before anyone knew such a large display was available. But there are resources on-line to help your issues out. Was it worth it? An unqualified yes! My KVM is also compatible to switch between my work laptop and desktop. It was well worth the reduced price. One low point is the menu settings. Not very intuitive, but you can figure it out.

More than I expectid
I will not go back to a standard monitor. The size and resolution has made working a pleasure, especially where I have to go between apps or use a program with extensive menus. Just being able to have my main application in the center of my workspace is by itself a game changer for me.

Very happy with monitor
This took the place of two 27" monitors, so although the screen space is identical, this is so much more than the sum of the two. For office work, being able to put windows anywhere without the divide in the middle allows for much more flexibility than 2 monitors. And gaming is at a whole new level. I'm running an RTX3060 and still able to use Ultra settings at max resolution. I can't offer any comparisons of this monitor to others, but I couldn't be happier with this one.

Great for the price
I'm not a gamer, so I am not super picky. I just wanted something big for coding :) This fits the bill. I have a 2019 Macbook pro and HAD to use SwitchResX to get the full 5120X1440p res. I also had to pair it with a GOOD DP->USBC cable. The first cheap one off amazon did not work, but I ordered what someone else suggested on the review (USB C to DisplayPort 1.4 VESA Certified, Maxonar 8K 60Hz Thunderbolt 4/3 /USB4 to DP Cable 6.6FT/2M(4K 60Hz 144Hz 120Hz 2K 240Hz) and it worked great.
Good packaging. Seems like it's built well. Sturdy Stand. For $750 I have no complaints.
