Sure, and it's a good use of an extra 1A USB charger that we all have lying around. Only problem is that it auto-powers off after some period of non-use, so you have to manually switch it back on each time. So it can't be too tucked away.

If I buy 2 of these, can I connect one to the pre-out of my home theater receiver (via left/right to 3.5mm)and set it to transmit and pair it with another exact same unit across the room in receive mode and then output via 3.5mm to an amp to a set of speakers? I want to add height speakers, but don't want to rip up my walls.

I have an LG TV that has bluetooth capabilities. Will this unit allow me to transmit the TV audio to my stereo receiver, as well as let me use my iphone with Spotify?
A shopper
on Apr 24, 2023
BEST ANSWER: In theory, yes, but unless your tv has video delay controls (it probably doesn't), the picture won't sync with the audio, due to the processing/transmit time over bluetooth. It's a non-trivial amount of delay. You can probably still use this unit to receive bluetooth audio from your phone, including Spotify.

Unless clearly stated, bluetooth is single point to single point. I heard an anology once, Women are like Bluetooth, men are like wifi. Bluetooth makes a single, strong connection which it remains dedicated to until a separation occurs, but requires the coupled device to be nearby at all times. Wifi makes itself available to anybody and everybody, making connections with as many signals as possible.

I don't have this transmitter/receiver yet, but any Apple AirPods support up to AAC codec for Bluetooth A2DP transmission. AAC is the best Bluetooth encoder built into Apple transmitting devices like iPhone or iPad. But based on the specs, AAC only works for receiving mode only. That being said.. you should still be able to pair ANY bluetooth headphones with the transmitter. Though performance varies by headset and supported codecs.

I just received this unit in the post, and I can't get it to switch codecs. The manual with it's tiny text describes using the pairing button to change the codec, but the unit just powers off when I try. The tiny manual says to ensure the unit is powered on, and to hold the pairing button for 7 seconds, then one of the codec buttons should light up, but it simply shuts off. Clearly something is off here, is the actual method different from the manual?
Marco M
on Nov 9, 2022
BEST ANSWER: On the transmitter, hold the pairing button for 7 seconds, the RX TX lights will momentarily light up and the unit will shut off. When you turn it on again the CODEC will toggle from HD to LL. Do this again and it will toggle from LL back to HD. If you're also using a IIIP to receive ( like I am ) it will also change from HD to LL or LL to HD to match. The transmitter and receiver don't have to be physically next to each other when switching CODECs.

Thank you! Will we have to do this each time the device reconnects, or does it now remember that we want to use LL with that device (headphones, in my case)?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, when running off a USB charger, it will auto-detect when there is no signal input, and eventually shut off. So you have to manually power it back on each time. Definitely an inconvenience, and means the unit needs to be easily accessible.

Good linkage
I have 2: I use this to send TV sound from the first as a transmitter to the other as a receiver and then use wired headphones. This let me watch TV very quietly at night without disturbing apartment neighbors or sleepers in the other room. 1 star dropped for the shorter cable length. Also, this would not work with a Monoprice SPDIF/optical cable splitter, which I was hoping to use to also feed TV sound to a soundbar.

These things are tiny!
I didn't appreciate how small these things would be when I ordered them! I bought a pair to be used to transmit audio from
a projector to powered speakers in my home theatre / living
room. They paired up easily, I see no lag between the projected image and audio when in HD or LL Codec modes so I'm leaving it in HD. Other reviewers heard hiss or a high pitched frequency in the background, I heard nothing even with the projector volume on full and no audio input, so they may have defective units or
perhaps noisy USB chargers. An amazing value for the price I paid at another retailer.

Works well for my purpose. Has a little bit of hiss when nothing is playing.
