Does this work for extending a tv to come lower that’s above a fireplace mantle?

BEST ANSWER: I don’t think so. The mount allows the TV to be pulled out and rotate left/right as well as tilt. It does not allow the TV to be lowered from its mount position.

Fully extended, what is the maximum range can it tilt to the left or right? Can it do more than 45 degrees?

BEST ANSWER: I would say it stops a little short of 45 degrees. The larger the TV, the less it will pivot. I have a 55" on this mount and it is a bit less than a full 45 pushed to one side or the other. But it is a great mount.

Your. Answer will depend upon the maximum extension and the size of the TV. If your max ext is 24” and the TV is less than 48” across then you can do 90 degrees either way. Simple STEM math.✌️

BEST ANSWER: I used the wall mount I purchased from Monoprice for my 85” Samsung(93lbs) and it worked out flawlessly!
The mount is easy to install and everything needed is supplied. I’ve used Monoprice numerous times in the past and have never been disappointed! This mount also has cover plugs in case the bolts would be exposed/seen so it looks clean when they’re covered up. This mount will be slightly seen, so this is a nice additional feature. Hopefully I answered your question.

Perfect
I've purchased two of these mounts in the last couple of months. I have a 55 in and a 65 in TV that I needed to swivel and this is perfect. It was very easy to install because it included all the bolts/screws plus extras. It looks clean behind the TV.

Overall it?s a very solid mount - improving the plastic drywall anchors , and elongating the slots in the mounting plate would help
Positives - Very solid mount - wall template was helpful - plugs and caps gave the mount a very clean look when complete. Assembly was easy
Negatives - plastic drywall anchors (when wall stud is not available ) spun in the wall and would not allow the lag bolt to secure. And mount is not slotted for sideway adjustments - this 6 bolt mounting plate forces you to choose and mark a location, but is not adjustable if tweaks are required to improve centering.
