What are the actual dimensions? It can’t really be 13” wide. At least doesn’t look that way from the pictures and it being a 6” woofer

I wonder if those dimensions mean an 8" version is coming....maybe?

can i drive a pair of these with my crown xli 800 with 300watts per channel at full gain @4 ohms ?

I’m using an Adcom amp with 60 watts per channel, Cannot play at anywhere near max output.. I would say you have to dial it back from full gain.

This may be a dumb question but would this speaker sound ok as a center speaker, laying horizontally? Thanks.
Hien V
on Dec 11, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I know this is almost a year late and I'm no expert, but my understanding is that most bookshelf speakers (this one included) do not have a wide vertical range of sound that is as good as on center, but horizontally the range is larger. When you turn it on its side anyone seated left or right of the primary listening position won't get good center channel audio which would impact dialog among other things. They are bookshelf speaker designs that would work in this way but they are usually much more expensive.

4 ohms seems low. Anyone using these with a Yamaha r-s202 or a Sony strdh190? Yamaha says 8 ohms and Sony says 6 or 8 ohms.

Great speakers for the price, I have four of them
I use these as center front and back channels in my surround sound system but they sounded so much better than anything else I tried that I bought two more and use them as stereo speakers on my book stand headboard for listening in bed. They were also the best speakers I tried in that setup.

Another Monoprice Hit
These speakers sound great. They have really improved the sound quality of my Home Theatre. They also sound fantastic when listening to music in dedicated stereo. The imaging and presence are spot on.
Highly recommended, and they look good, really good.

Audiofile level speakers
Ordered these with hesitation as I was needing front L/R mains for my living room theater system. Have Bowers Wilkins for the surrounds and Martin Logan for the Center. Did not want to spend the extra money to match the B&W?s or Martin Lagans. So I ordered these and the Elec Debut 2.0 6.5?s. The Elacs did not impress me and sounded ok. On the other hand, the B6?s sounded awesome. Very clean and clear. They matched the B&W?s tonally and play very load without any issues. Very impressed. Save the money and order these. U will not be disappointed.

Nice Speakers
Recently received a pair of the Encore B6 speakers for a 2 channel system. The speakers arrived in two well packed very stout boxes and thick foam protecting them. I personally love the look of these speakers, the ebony wrap, gloss black top and bottom caps, woofer and waveguide all blend very well. Would have liked magnetic grills removing the need for the plastic grill inserts cleaning up the front baffle.
My listening space is also my main living space so I have limitations on speaker placement, but did the best I could. Trying various degrees of toe-in I found the extreme-toe-in position to be the best. The left speaker is aligned one seating position to my right and opposite for the right speaker and provides a nice center image and tames the directed energy of the waveguides.
I tend to listen at low to medium volume and these provide a rich and well balanced presentation and play larger than their size even at the lower volume levels. I don?t feel the need to crank the volume to make them come alive.
I have them sitting atop a pair of Monolith 24?, 4 post speaker stands which are also nice. Price to performance is excellent and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Would buy again.

Encore? ... More like Bravo!
I really enjoy the performance and value Encore B6 Offers. They have a pleasent balance of sound character: Highs are smooth.. Mids are clear ..and the bass is surprising. I believe it hard to beat at this price range and availability.

Big Sound, Small Cost
Fantastic sound at an unbelievable price. These bested Martin Logan Motion 40s and Arendal 1961in listening and measured tests. I was skeptical when I ordered them, but now feel you will totally not regret getting these for 2 channel or home theater. The crossover looks decent and there is fill material inside the cabinet, just the sides though, I may use some NoRez on the top and bottom of the cabinet. Very impressed!
