Does this have onnsey of connection posts? Or two (one set for each woofer)?

BEST ANSWER: It has two, but they are bridged. If you only plug one in, they both play (verified this myself when I received mine tonight).

These are two passive 8" unpowered woofers, so yes it requires an amplifier. Preferably one that can drive a 4 ohm load.

What is the recommended amplifier power?
Gautham V

BEST ANSWER: The specs say they are rated for 300 watts RMS (continuous wattage going to speakers) and 600 watts max but when I got them in the magnets state 150 watts RMS on each woofer so it appears the ratings above are for both woofers combined. Since they come with two binding posts (meaning you'll need to run two different channels to connect these) you need to choose your amplifier based on the 150 watt RMS/300 watt peak per channel rating.

Can this speaker be installed horizontally if not constrained by fitting in 16" stud bay? Also specs list mounting depth of 4.8". Not sure if that incudes the drywall?

What Monoprice amplifier is recommended with the sub (or the single 8" Monolith)? Also, could this be powered by my receiver if sufficiently powerful?

BEST ANSWER: It is unlikely your receiver would power this because almost all receivers use only pre-out connections for subwoofers (meaning the subwoofer channel isn't powered). Besides that, most receiver amplifiers are rated for only two channels powered meaning if you see it has a 150 watt per channel (300 watts total) rating and it is a 7.2 receiver then only the 7 part of that equation is actually powered by the amp in the receiver and it is only pushing 150 watts per channel if you only connect two of those speakers. If you run 5 channels (speakers) then it would be dividing that 300 watts (which is a big amp for a receiver) by 5 (60 watts per channel). More generally, if you're getting this line of speakers then you need to have a receiver with multiple pre-outs (unpowered speaker channels which bypass the internal amplifier of the receiver) and connect a powered amplifier with an appropriate wattage per channel. Even really good receivers don't have amplifiers to power this size of speaker and I've never heard of a receiver that powers passive subwoofers like this one.

The depth of the M-IWSUB82 is listed as 12.2cm. I assume a portion of the subwoofer sticks out in front of the wall. If so how much of the 12.2cm sticks out and how much is in the wall?
Or is there 12.2cm for the portion thats in the wall only and doesn't include the part that sticks out.
The reason I ask is that I only have 10cm depth to play with and was hoping I could still install this speaker.

Is there any way that the M-IWSUB82 subwoofer can be installed in 10cm of depth?
I know the depth is listed at 12.2cm but I was hoping this was the depth of the entire sub that may contain a portion that sticks out in front of the wall.

I am thinking to mount the M-IWSUB82 on the ceiling. Are the magnets strong enough to hold the grille steady while the subwoofer is in full blast?

Has anyone experimented with different wall cavity sizes? Wondering how much airspace I should give them for best results.

to get 8 Ohm load, do I have to add a wire between the binding posts on either side, then wire my amp to a post on either side, and drive them in series? I don't have a 4 Ohm amp

Excellent Sound
Replaced 2-12 inch down firing Klipsch with 1 of these installed in ceiling. No they do not play as deep as both Klipsch but the sound is far improved. I powered them with the swa-400 amp wired at 8ohms it is a fairly good match.
They come prewired to 2ohms with jumpers, they are 4ohm SVC 150watt RMS each. Each sub has it's own terminals and jumpers can be removed to wire to 8 ohms if needed.
They produce excellent sound and very tight accurate bass. I imaging had I purchased 2 of these they would put the Klipsch to shame. The SPL is very impressive from 8" subs I'm not past the break in period yet so I haven't pushed them just yet, I know from my other one they have amazing ability.
I installed the single sub version on my patio and have been so impressed decided to give the dual a run inside.
The monolith product line is incredible for the cost, I just ordered the FRC 3 way and the 2 way to replace my current 7.1 in ceiling set up.
