Do I have to plugin two HDMI or two DP to make it work?
Chris P
on Feb 7, 2022
BEST ANSWER: No - just 1 connection is necessary. If you use the DP connection, you can get a higher refresh rate which is good for gaming, but the HDMI is good as well. The secondary connections can be used if you want to split the screen between 2 computers.

Sounds like you are asking about using a split screen. Using split screen is a function more of the OS than the monitor, but the monitor supports it well. I often use split screens because there is so much room. It only needs one plug, either HDMI or DP.

No. you only need one cable per device. But if you wanted you could plug in multiple devices, and there is a switch on the right hand side for you to switch between devices.
It's an excellent gaming monitor, buy it already!

It doesn’t switch inputs if there’s active content and you plug something else in, but if there’s no signal on one it *will* switch to another. And yes, the monitor automatically goes into standby mode when there’s no signal

I don’t believe so, but I’m not entirely sure so I will explain as to why I answered with no. When playing new games or watching something on a new software it will be kinda bland coloring, but most the time I am able to edit graphics in specific software settings and edit to my preferred color pool. So yes and no, depends on what software/applications allow certain specs. DP cable is needed for higher quality than 3k though.

Does it have hdr?
Jose T
on Mar 23, 2022
BEST ANSWER: I think it can display hdr content, but with a peak brightness of 400, it won't be very good. Its a very good monitor and I like the image--nice clear and bright--but in order to show HDR content well, ideally would need a higher peak brightness--at least 600 nits, closer to 1000 nits, also local array dimming or an OLED screen. Samsung is making new QD-Oleds which would be the best choice but more than twice as expensive than this monitor.

If I only install it on a single PC, in 100%, how big will a single window be? 1/2 of the width? So when you open another page, I also fits at 100% to the right of the original window? Does it default there or you're always moving it? Also are you always having to adjust the width when you open a new window because Windows defaults to full width? Yes, I know you can decrease the width, so it that every time? I now use two screens and I'm thinking because it is separate, it might end up still being better if I'm always adjusting. TIA.

BEST ANSWER: I'm not 100% sure I understand the question but when you open a new window it just opens at whatever size Windows has it set for. You can full screen any window to span it across the entire display, you can resize the windows to whatever size you chose or, you can use Windows snap (windows_key + arrow_key) to make a window 1/2 or 1/4 of the screen. The entire screen acts as a single screen unless you change your Windows settings to set it up otherwise.

I just bought an Alienware AW3420DW, which does not accept a 4K signal from PS5 and downscale it to 1440p, as some monitors do. There is a Reddit list of all known 1440p monitors that do. Unfortunately this is a dealbreaker. Unfortunately, I was not aware at the time of purchase that PS5 didn’t support 1440p, as Xbox does. Will this monitor accept 4K and down-convert it?

Not bad, but not good.
The price was right but the colors and saturation is not too good, the housing is designed well and many other manufacturers could take note of that but the distortion from the curve seems more intense than similarly curved monitors, it seems almost as if the panel is bowed further in the center than intended. Conclusion, I would not buy it again unless it was priced at $200.

More great than terrible
Was really loving this monitor until I noticed the flickering using adaptive sync. If a game drops below the freesync range of 48hz/fps there is horrrible flickering, also if the framrate drops from say 90 to 60 there will be flickering. Had no dead or stuck pixels. Another problem is the cheap plastic expands and contracts so it makes noise, I thought this would get better but still happens. The screen occasionaly turns blank using displayport.
