Will it work on HDMI 2.0 ?
alexander s
on Jun 30, 2021
BEST ANSWER: HDMI 2.1 cables are backward compatible, yes. I'm using these cables to connect devices (XBoxOne, PS4, older smart TVs, DVRs, etc.) that are NOT 2.1 compatible and they work fine. Not a conclusive statement of backward compatibility, but I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise. Most notable change is in the encoding scheme; it is improved in 2.1 so that more of the total bit rate is available for transmission. The new 16b/18b is backward compatible with TDMS (effectively an 8b/10b).
