BEST ANSWER: The pair comes with both the encoder and decoder. The one marked ENC is the encoder and the one marked DEC is the decoder. You can find this on the upper top corner to the right of the BLACKBIRD name.

Thanks but that isn't the question. This product can do ONE transmitter to MULTIPLE receivers via a gigabit switch. How do I buy RECEIVERS BY THEMSELVES without the encoders?

Can this extender co-exist with other ethernet traffic on the same gigabit switch? or does this device have to be on its own separate switch?

BEST ANSWER: Thanks for reaching out to Monoprice, and we would highly recommend to use the separate gigabit switch for better performance.

Can you connect a usb hub to the keyboard or mouse port? I plan to use something like this with a home arcade machine that will have 4 usb controller boards that would need to have their input transmitted back to my PC along with the video signal and wanted to know if this would work.

BEST ANSWER: Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. We have not tested these devices in the mentioned setup so we wouldn't be able to confirm or deny if it would work that way. The USB ports are USB 1.1.

Description for audio says 2‑channel LPCM. So it definitely can't do 5.1 surround for audio? I see cheaper ones can do dolby dts etc.

I assume since this works over ethernet, it uses IP - Is it possible to change the IPs so you could have multiple different (separate) sets of these running on the same network? I realize using managed switches with different VLANs would probably work, but it would be very nice if I could configure them somehow.

1. In a one to multiple configuration, how can we purchase just the decoder?
2. In a one to multiple configuration, do the keyboard and mouse work from each decoder?

Very good now but could be great
I have purchased 2 sets of these only because I needed 2 Decoders and they work very well on our network with many switches. They boot up and attach to each other very quickly.
I wish they sold the decoders as a standalone product.
I just wish that there were more options in the software to be able to have multiple sets on the same network showing different data.

Great product
Worked very well at 385' from the sound room of a church to the fellowship hall when several others I tried (that claim to work over 425' or more) Didn't work, but this one works perfectly! I already bought 2 more for stock.
