If these are 18Gbps cables (as indicated in the description), wouldn't they be HDMI 2.0? HDMI 2.0 can transfer up to 18Gbps whereas HDMI 1.4 can only transfer up to 10.2Gbps.
I love the flat cable. Much easier to tie down multiple cable runs behind my entertainment center. Also easier to manage when I need to attach a computer to my big screen.
Remember that most cord holders (like on a tv mount) are designed to hold round cords. Zip ties work well with the flat cable. Round or flat cables both have pros and cons. The flat is less cooperative when trying to roll it up. I like that the flat cable slides easier when pulled through a wall.
Had to add this to an existing 25' Monoprice cable of the same type. Used a female to female Keystone jack (Monoprice product # 6852) since looks were of no concern since the union is hidden from view The flat cable made it possible to complete the job without having to open up a wall. Thank you Monoprice! The 10' cable, keystone jack and shipping were priced reasonably and both arrived in a timely manner . Another job doe well by the fine folks of Monoprice.
I bought these cables to route through my wall for my home theater system. I needed something that was smaller and easier to bend so I could fit 4 of these cables inside the recessed power outlet slot for cables. I was able to fit 4 of these cables and an ethernet cable perfectly thanks to their flat design and better flexibility.
PROS: Highly flexible cable that takes up less space as a normal HDMI cable
CONS: None yet although I haven't connected the cable to my devices yet to really run it.
