Will this be good for 16x25 room?

BEST ANSWER: I have mine in a 22 x 23 room..... It is awesome..... I built mine into my bar and it faces out to one side. If I did it again I would face it dircectly into center of room. Ensure you use splitter to allow input to go to both inputs (sort of doubles output power.

I would not seal the port up, it limits the excursion of the driver, just set up the sub with the gain at about 10 o'clock position, and the crossover about 50 Hz.

Better than dayton15 & is it good for music????
A shopper
on Nov 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The idea that smaller subs are better for music is absolutely false. Smaller subs do not move faster and the lighter cone does not make it "light on its feet." An accurate sub will work for both movies and music. If a sub sounds better for music, it is often because it does not extend as deep or play as loud. You can always turn down the volume of the sub, and ideally, use an EQ device like miniDSP to adjust the response to suit.

I tried it on both movies and music but not extensively with diverse music. It's pretty good for movies and I liked it for music but I think the 12" is better for music or even the 10" because the cone will be much lighter and motor structure would be easier to move quickly since music demands a sub that is light on its feet. This might be due to auto power mode. If there isn't enough signal going to the sub (like if the volume is too low) it'll shut itself off. You can disable this by switching power mode to ON (vs. auto).

This sub is a 15 inch and it says 600watt but.. I don't think it is 600watt it's probly 250w - 300watt(?) Also in the manual is says "Bass Reflex with down firing port" I'd think a 300watt~ 15 inch would go lower than 30Hz, Please let us know if the 30Hz spec is a mistake, or if it's just an early-product phase placeholder? My guess is it's lower than my BIC F12 - 12 inch - 150 watt - 25Hz .. let us know in response thank you

I recently bought this sub, and although have not really pushed it( thinking of gently breaking it in) I am very impressed with it….however, last night I went to use it to watch a movie in my theatre, and it was not producing sound. I noticed the little red power led was not in….I normally keep it in the “ auto detect” position. I switched it to the “on” position and all it did was have the Led flash rapidly , but it’s like it was not activating on? I tried disconnecting from power for 1 hour and replugged in, still nothing but rapidly flashing led….does anyone know what this is? Essentially it is “ dead” other than the flashing led…no hum or buzz or anything.

I have an SVS PB 300o and am looking for a second budget sub to fill some gaps in my room. Would this be a complimentary sub?
A shopper
on Jan 8, 2024
BEST ANSWER: The SVS PB3000 is a subwoofer in a completely different performance tier. You might be better off adding a smaller subwoofer from SVS as a complimentary subwoofer or a 10"-12" Monolith subwoofer.

Is the 600 watts listed RMS or peak? Also, I'm a little surprised that the given the size of the woofer and the wattage the low end of the frequency range isn't lower than 30 HZ. Any explanation of why this is?

STOP DELETING MY REVIEW
After 2 years of use it failed. The speaker started popping and shutting of intermittently then about a week after it started it died. Monoprice will not repair it, will not sell replacement parts and offered a $30 discount. I WOULD NOT BUY THIS AT THIS PRICE POINT. There are alternatives that would last longer for a lot less money. MONOPRICE IS DELETING MY REIVIEW DAILY BECAUSE THEY KNOW THIS IS AN ISSUE AND WANT TO HIDE IT.

Sounds great.
Awesome subwoofer.
Using an input y adapter from single 75 ohm subwoofer cable increases the volume and so I back it down on its amp.
Y adapter may also increase response efficiency..
I like its sound quality.

Huge, definitely does the job
I made the mistake of ordering without really checking the dimensions of this thing. It's HUGE. But it gets the job done. Quite well in fact. It has speaker level inputs which I need. The auto-shutoff feature isn't too sensitive so it'll shut off when music is playing too quietly. Not a huge deal. I've tested it with metal, rap, hip-hop, etc. It'll definitely rattle the house!

Great Deal
Remember to use a RCA y cable for best results.
This is a absolute bargain.
Is it a 130db house shaker, well no. BUT it definitely hits the low notes enough for me. Great for movies' and quite acceptable for music. I would suggest taking the speaker out and adding one layer of polyester fiber inside the cabinet on the bottom and slightly up the sides.

The top has poly fiber, but without the poly fiber on the bottom (attached w hot glue) the port will chuff.
That's it, one layer of poly fiber and one y RCA cable.
Buy it

Raw Power
If what you're looking for is RAW Bass on a budget, look no further. I figure for the price it's a win-win situation but eventually what I want to do Is pair this with an AVR that has a Subwoofer DSP to tune the performance and see if I can reign in the performance and if that goes well, I would go for a second unit.

Doesn't go as low as SVS but fills my space better
I was running Dayton 12's for the last few years, recently tried SVS PB1000 pros and while they can get much lower than these, I have a huge open floor plan room with 21 ft ceilings and they just didn't fill it. So I ordered one of these and I was impressed enough to order a second one. I know I'm missing some of that subterranean level but these fill that open space much more and can really feel it 18 ft away on the couch. Even better at 2 for half the price of one of the PB1000 pros

Love, Love, Love this speaker but it is so big.
Installed this the other day and can say this is so nice. Just make sure you have the room. I had to make this fit and pictures do not do any justices of how big this is. i am so happy with it and the sound woke up the neighbors watching Galaxy Vol. 3 at 3:30am haha. And nothing can touch this on the price. I hope it last. In picture it's behind the TV with an 8" sub on top. Also, two 10" on the end of each sofa.
