Can I seal the port up for better performance?
New User U

BEST ANSWER: Correction. It is ported. I've had it for two months and didn't realize this. The porthole does have a smooth inner ring for plugs. It would be safe to say you can plug this one.

I would not seal the port up, it limits the excursion of the driver, just set up the sub with the gain at about 10 o'clock position, and the crossover about 50 Hz.

Do know volume but my room is 13 x 36 and has more than enough power. Remember to run on a separate receptacle, it draws a good bit of juice, but that's a good thing

There's no LFE INPUT, but can I Just use the White - OR - Red RCA for LFE .1 signal ?
K G
on Nov 7, 2020
The white rca by itself is an LFE designed to run a single connection to your reciever. It says line/LFE White only will give you slightly less strength but better lows....signal.

Does using a RCA Y-Cable to the Subwoofer's RCA inputs give the sub more signal?
K G
on Nov 30, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Running the signal with just one RCA cable to the SUB-IN input on the sub will decrease the output quite considerably. I tried with both RCA connected and single RCA connected and the output difference is very audible.

Would this be appropriate to use with a Digital Piano?
Frank M
on Jan 21, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Not as the only speaker. It lacks the frequency response required to output the audio range of your typically digital piano, but certainly as an addition to a full range speaker, it is very capable. However, keep in mind it weighs 66 lbs.

Better than dayton15 & is it good for music????
A shopper
on Nov 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The idea that smaller subs are better for music is absolutely false. Smaller subs do not move faster and the lighter cone does not make it "light on its feet." An accurate sub will work for both movies and music. If a sub sounds better for music, it is often because it does not extend as deep or play as loud. You can always turn down the volume of the sub, and ideally, use an EQ device like miniDSP to adjust the response to suit.

I tried it on both movies and music but not extensively with diverse music. It's pretty good for movies and I liked it for music but I think the 12" is better for music or even the 10" because the cone will be much lighter and motor structure would be easier to move quickly since music demands a sub that is light on its feet. Is the 600 watts listed RMS or peak? Also, I'm a little surprised that the given the size of the woofer and the wattage the low end of the frequency range isn't lower than 30 HZ. Any explanation of why this is?

Monoprice SW-15
This sub is a 15 inch and it says 600watt but.. I don't think it is 600watt it's probly 250w - 300watt(?) Also in the manual is says "Bass Reflex with down firing port" I'd think a 300watt~ 15 inch would go lower than 30Hz, Please let us know if the 30Hz spec is a mistake, or if it's just an early-product phase placeholder? My guess is it's lower than my BIC F12 - 12 inch - 150 watt - 25Hz .. let us know in response thank you

Will the 'SW' series subs be sold (also) through amazon(fulfilled) once they're in stock? Current ETA for your site says: ETA 11/16/2020 - Also would it be better to buy 2 Direct / here?, as opposed to 2 on amazon?? You could offer 'buy 2 Subs' option on amazon also though?

Monoprice SW-10 10" 150 Watt RMS (300 Watt Peak) Powered Subwoofer

In what direction are the physical measurements taken? How wide (across the surface where the woofer is located) is it?

Mine died just after a year. The power light flickers on and off. Tried new cables, different outlets.. nothing. Any way to fix/troubleshoot this thing? Using same cables/outlet on a different subwoofer works. This one just does nothing.

Best for the money
Purchased this 15" to replace an old JBL 12". The 15" is significantly louder and more boomier. For the money it's hard to beat. I might just buy another one.

Best for the money and fills my living room with more bass than the 12 inch jbl.

Definitely good value. Fills out the low end without being boomy. Some concerns about the amp failing based on feedback from others.

Plenty Of Power Makes This Loud And Moves A Lot of Air
This subwoofer is substantial. It is big, heavy, and gorgeous looking. Using my Yamaha's built-in speaker EQ optimization (YPAO) I had this sub's volume at half level and the Yamaha still set it's gain to -8 db. Mind you, I'm powering my speakers with Monoprice's phenomenal high-power Monolith 7X amplifier, which the Yamaha set the gain to 0 (zero) on the other speakers.
Also, this sub readily outputs down to 25 Hz, not the 30 Hz advertised. This 15" sub is a BEAST. For the price it is utterly and absolutely unbeatable.
It is not without it's flaws. For my home theater I think it may be too much. I play my music LOUD, but if the AVR is subtracting 8 db when the sub's volume is set at half, the sub has way too much power. My prior sub, also a 15", was set with volume at full and the amp added 10 db! Secondly, this Monoprice sub's beautiful enclosure is too large to occupy the same space as the prior 15"'s spot in my home theater. Lastly, and this could be a problem with my environment, I get a 60 Hz hum from this sub. I suspect I could set the volume at 25% and eliminate it entirely, but from my perspective I should hear no hum from a digital amplifier. I am not ruling out something wrong with my wiring, but my main speakers do not emit any hum.
All things considered, Monoprice has another home run with this sub. I don't know how they do it, but however it is they manage their sourcing, they are certified geniuses.

NEIGHBORS GET ROCKED TO SLEEP SOMETIMES!
This sub was long overdue when I bought it. I own 14 Monoprice 8" powered studio monitors. All of them are driven by a huge 5 manual Digital/Hauptwerk Organ console. The bass from 32" pipe organ pipes resonates as they should and you always feel the bass presence-even at lower volumes.

Big boom in a big package
Let's be real, this took care of two of my needs, it shakes by whole house when I want it to with no noticeable distortion. It also serves as a corner table and we put a lamp on it and some coasters to set the brew on it. I love it and would recommend to anyone that has the room for it. It is huge so just be ready for it to literally replace a corner table spot.
