BEST ANSWER: 11.2 Surround isn't a thing, you're just adding more speakers to a 5.2 or 7.2 surround setup. You may consider doing 7.2.4 Atmos to take advantage of the newest Dolby Digital encoding format. However, the only speakers which would timbre match these are the "Monolith by Monoprice THX Certified Satellite Speakers" item #41288, anything else will detract from a uniform sound field. It would be ok to use two, one above and one below the screen.

Like another answer said, 11.2 isn't correct. It seems like you are talking about 7.2.4 (11 speakers-2 subs). I have this set up and purchased two of these 5.1 systems (which are incredible!!!!!) and also purchased the pair of the same satellite speakers to use one of them as the center speaker. These are awesome. I now have an additional speaker.....oh well.....still totally worth it.

The satellite works well as center in the 5. 1 design, maybe get a additional pair of satellites and use one for the center so everything is perfectly matched.

Yes. I bought this system and plan on buying two more pairs of the satellites for Atmos. I am going to use speaker mounting brackets and hang them from the ceiling.

I have the Yamaha RX-V385 receiver (Rated Output Power (20Hz-20kHz, 2ch driven) 70 W (8 ohms, 0.09% THD)), is it powerful enough to drive these speakers? Or would the Monoprice Premium 5.1-Channel Home Theater System with Subwoofer Product # 10565 be a better fit?

Is there a dedicated LFE on the RCA plugs on the sub? Or will I need a 'Y' cable to connect the sub to the A/V Receiver?

Are there ceiling mounts for the speakers?

BEST ANSWER: There's a standard sized keyhole mount on the back, and an M6 screw fits on the bottom. While I won't personally recommend anything, I'm sure any screw-in wall mount would attach to the ceiling and hold the speaker just the same. Just make sure to properly tighten the speaker's keyhole bolt.

Exceptional value
I'm coming from the world of high-end headphones and have been slowly upgrading my home theater setup. I'm replacing a set of Klipsch Reference speakers which were fine to start, but not particularly good. These Monolith satellites and sub are a massive upgrade at about the same price as I paid for the Klipsch and I highly recommend them.
At this price point, the satellites are very good. They offer a significant amount of detail and nuance across their frequency range. They actually have an astonishing horizontal soundstage and I have been surprised on more than one occasion at sounds that came from way off to the side. Compared to more expensive speakers they lack the smoothness you'd expect and sometimes come across as a bit gravelly, but that's nitpicking because nothing at this price point compares - especially if you can pick up this system on sale.
The sub offers smooth and clean output and pairs exceptionally with the satellites. It can dig very deep for an 8" sub and has good impact and extension without being too boomy. It's only going to significantly pressurize the smallest rooms but at this price point I don't have any real complaints.

Great system for small rooms
Bought these on sale to add to an existing stereo monitor set to comprise the 7.1 portion of a 7.1.4 atmos setup for a super low cost.
Great decision, they sound wonderful, the cutoff freq seems to be much lower than the 80 portrayed in the specs, I'm regularly getting fairly full-level content through these down to 65hz. I do feel like the center channel is slightly lacking, and I'll probably upgrade that to another larger Monolith center in the coming months.
Likely will also upgrade my height speakers to two pairs of these satellites instead of the cheaper monoprice 5.1 satellites I currently have mounted up there.

Amazing speaker system!
I was wanting an immersive speaker system for watching movies and came across this. I love the fact that they are all identical speakers. After watching reviews on youtube, I decided to get this. (I have a review about the satellites on this website). I am so glad I got these speakers! These are replacing a much larger Klipsch speaker set up and I am very impressed! I plan on buying two more pairs to replace the Klipsch speakers for atmos. And the subwoofer?....Forget it!!! This 8 inch sub kills it! As soon as I connected it, I noticed a HUGE improvement over my 12 inch Polk Audio sub (The bad review about this sub on this site had to be "operator error"). Don't get me wrong, I love Polk speakers, but these speakers sound so much better. (Don't worry Matthew Polk, I will still use your speakers in my other set-up). Let me say also that I am powering these speakers with Emotiva amps that are way overkill for these but they still rock. Nothing bad to say about this system. Can't wait to buy more!
