does this pen need to be touching the screen of "The Creator Series Pen Display," for the "Mouse button" to work?

BEST ANSWER: With my Creator 16" tablet, I can choose Active or Passive pen mode (despite this pen technically being a passive pen). In Active mode, the mouse button on the pen works as soon as the tablet recognizes the pen is near (when the cursor dot appears, about 3/4 inch away). In Passive mode, the mouse button will not work without touching the screen, and even then it's a bit finicky. I leave it in Active mode.

Aside from the default eraser function and default mouse button function, which rely on "passive electromagnetic induction technology," is there any reason why this pen would not function a an ordinary stylus on other touch screen devices?

Not Working With Tablet And Windows 11
Not sure if the problem's with the tablet, the pen, or the USB cable but my Windows 11 laptop won't recognize the tablet. I still have several options to try to see if I can resolve the issue, but have been occupied with other more pressing things so haven't had time to try the various solutions yet.

The monitor is OK for armature occasional use but not for professional.
The monitor screen is not good. The screen is too dark and the contrast is not sufficient for any serious user.
