The description on this unit says it performs Tolink audio extraction, but the photos do not show a Toslink port. Are the photos incorrect, or is the description incorrect? Does it, in fact, have Toslink?
A shopper
on Mar 8, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The unit has a mini toslink input on the back and comes with an adapter. I had never heard of or seen a mini toslink input, but it works perfectly. Monoprice sells a mini to standard toslink cable, but you do not need to buy it if you already have a standard toslink cable. The included mini toslink adapter snaps onto the end of a standard toslink cable and works well.

It does do toslink audio extraction. The audio port is a dual purpose port. It's the regular 1/8 audio adapter and a mini-optical audio out. The device comes with an adapter from the mini toslink to the regular size if you already have a toslink fiber cable.

Recently purchased this, and I am unable to get 4:2:2 chroma with my Apple TV 4K. Any advice?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: While I don't have an Apple TV 4K, I can confirm the device will pass through a 4:4:4 signal so long as the source device, display device, and all cables and hardware in the middle support it.
That said, a little bit of searching online says that other folks have the same issue on the Apple TV 4K regardless of other hardware, with some only saying that you can only get 4:4:4 so long as you don't enable HDR, at which point, you gotta ask yourself if the streaming quality of the content you're watching (most are 25Mbps at best; roughly a quarter of most Ultra HD Blu-ray movies) would actually provide a noticeable quality bump vs. 10-bit color in HDR.

Anyone else having issues getting an toslink audio signal? Headphones work fine in the dual-mode port, but nothing via toslink optical with ARC on or off.
For context my toslink run is long, 75 ft. Plugging in another source works fine so I know the long cable is good. I suspect the light source in this switcher may not be bright enough or there's a compatibility issue with Sony amp.

It works!
It works! Running PS4, PS5, Panasonic BlueRay, cable box. Auto switch works perfectly. Works with 20 year old Meridian processor with no HDMI out and only one Optical port. I've had switching boxes fail in the past but after a few weeks this one is so far working! I may upgrade to 4k eventually but this works just fine for 2k.

Great boost and switch
I have a 30' HDMI cable plugged into a projector, and this switch excels where others failed, because it is powered, it "boosts" the signal of some of my weaker devices enough that I can get HDLC at 4k, 30hz 4:2:2
Also, love the auto sense, switcher, and ability to hook up an optical out for HDMI. Waiting for the day that someone comes out with one of these that has HDMI-ARC audio split output for use with soundbar (and projector that doesn't have the correct HDMI-ARC output).

Blackbird 4K HDMI Switch
Works as advertised. Caught it on sale and saved a few bucks. I might add that is was at least a hundred dollars less than the switches I had been looking at on other sites and has more features. I needed it for my bedroom TV because my older LCD only has two inputs.
