Is there a tipping hazard for children?
A shopper
on Dec 30, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Children are always unpredictable, but in my opinion, the stand is sturdy and should resist all but the most determined efforts to tip it over as long as you follow all the instructions and implement all the safety features designed to keep the TV mounted. I have a 65" tv mounted on mine.

The stand is very stable and doesn’t tip over at all but the TV mounted on mine is only a 65 inch and does not weigh even half as much as it’s capable of namely 88 pounds.

The short answer is No. Just DON'T let anyone grab it or attempt to climb on it & it will be fine. Mine is very stabile with a 46" set mounted on it.

I have a 75" Samsung and a stand like this is needed to set it up in room it's occupying. Can it accommodate those dimensions or is there a better recommendation?

BEST ANSWER: If you look at the Sales Sheet in the Description section, it says as long as the proper Vesa pattern is there and it doesn't exceed the maximum height you are good to go.
Now if you buy this I only ask that you come back to the black version and answer the question around the height of the base itself. Need to know how much clearance is required to slide the base under furniture.

I'm also looking at this piece with the same size & brand television. Monoprice can you please answer. If my television is under 88 lbs max but I don't want to use the top shelf & have the stand at its highest setting will the 75" offset the center of gravity & topple? Should there be a counter balance placed on the bottom?

When the specs say a maximum height of 55.7", is that the maximum height of the just the back pole or the back pole plus the height of the two mounting arm that attach to the tv at its highest possible setting ?
Rich
on May 5, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The maximum height you can achieve with a TV depends on how you mount the TV, but basically the mid position of the TV is just slightly less than the 55.7" as you can see in the picture (assuming the mounting arm is at full extension). So your TV would extend above the 55.7" in an amount equal to approximately half the height of your TV, if that makes sense.

Does Monoprice offer table top TV stands? This item is too tall for such a use. A number of manufacturers, like SONY, enclose legs for their TVs that are too far apart for my TV console.

Great product, needs better QC
I have purchased this stand in the past. It is a great, sturdy stand and I have no issues with it.
My issue is with the latest purchase specifically.
One of the holes at the bottom of the vertical piece, had a hole that was either stripped or not tapped properly. It was only one hole, so I saw no need to purchase a tap and die set - I used a slightly oversized, hex-head metal screw to secure the vertical piece to the base, and it worked well for me.
The issue is, obviously, this stand is going to be bearing the weight of a television/monitor being hung from it. And, as the saying goes, "a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link." Yes, again, it was only one hole that initially couldn't be secured with the supplied hardware, but everything was already out of the packaging and laid out to be assembled ... packing all of that up to send back was not going to happen. If I had let that one hole go, then I would be inevitably sacrificing the security of my television.

TV Mount & Stand Quality Problems
This is the 2nd Stand received - the 1st had rust on the base and the paint was peeling. This base has the same issue, but I've kept it because it's a hassle to pack the heavy stand up and ship it back. I like the design, but doubt that the third try will be any better.

Would recommend
Looks and works great! Definitely need a second person to help build it but it was straightforward to put together. The part that attaches the mount to the stand comes with several different sizes of spacers to fit both TVs with flat backs and TVs with curves on the back - very nice touch. Happy with this purchase!

Overall a good tv stand.
The stand should have had an extendable center woodgrain metal or plastic cover for the framing supports that show when the tv is raised above the upper portion of the existing trim piece. Other than that it is an excellent product, Very sturdy. Also it would have been great if the base was available in the same woodgrain finish. Would have looked more elegant.

Sturdy, well constructed
This TV stand is just what I needed. It was relativey easy to assemble and makes it easy to hide cables. Is sturdy and provides for several different screen heights.

Excellent for the price!
Couldn't wall mount my new TCL 55", so I purchased this mount. Definitely sturdy enough and easy enough to assemble. Mounting the TV was easy as well. Wish the shelf below the TV was more sturdy and at least large enough to accommodate the Optimum cable box, but no luck. Kind of useless and it is also a source of vibration rattle noise when watching anything bass heavy on the TV. Still, a very good option for mounting a TV and an excellent price. Definitely would recommend this product.

Almost Perfect
Very attractive and easy to put together and use. It did come with a few small flaws in the finish, we could have returned it but didn't want to repack it (It was packed very well).
Overall we're happy with the solid construction and appearance.
