The center column is metal. I don’t know what MDF veneer is. These are very nice, ultra modern speaker stands.

How are the spikes constructed? All metal contact with the floor? Or do they have a soft/rubber material making the contact with the floor?

They have translucent rubber pieces provided that can be used. I have mine on carpet so I am not currently using them.

It does not say how the cords are managed/hidden. Are they threaded through the pipe? Or what?

Yes, the wires are threaded through a small opening in the bottom and top of the metal tube. The wires are visible on the glass bottom and minimally visible underneath the glass top.

Hi, is the centre column fillable with sand?
A shopper
on Oct 6, 2020
BEST ANSWER: There are two cutouts, one each at the top and bottom of the tube in order to pass a cable through the tube. If you don't need the cable management, and block the bottom cutout somehow, I don't see why you couldn't fill the column with sand. If you simply want weight in the column, something wider than the opening would be simpler - stones, marbles, etc.

Quite good-For the price
The glass is pretty nice. There's actually a thin steel rod that runs inside the outer tube that holds everything together. Putting it together it's very clear that it's cheap, but it doesn't look cheap once you have it set up. The pre-threaded holes in the base aren't particularly well made (little bits of metal fillings were left in them), but they work.
It looks reasonably good and the pair costs as much as what people charge for a single stand. I don't think there's anything better out there for the price, and they really do look nice once you get them set up.

Really pleased; no MDF
Really happy with these stands. Despite the description, there is no MDF with these stands. I hesitated, and even asked a question, regarding the description of "MDF wood veneer". Assembly fairly straight forward. Cables can be hidden in the column, but I have yet to do this as I'm waiting on some additional parts to make my own cables.

Excellent Stands
Quite attractive stands that effectively hide the cables and function to isolate the speakers from the floor. Great price, too.

Have held up overtime
What can I say. They hold my speakers without issue and I use them on carpet flooring. Haven't moved them much since installing them so I don't know how they would do in that situation.

Confusing assembly believe it or not!
Nice stands. They come with spiked feet and rubber feet but it's not clear how to install the rubber ones for my hardwood floors. I ended up getting small throw rug samples and used them.

Stands work well in my room
The glass and silver allow it to blend in very well. Hiding the cable in the tube works well. Easy to assemble.
