Can this cable support 4k @ 120Hz FPS?
A shopper
on May 4, 2021
BEST ANSWER: YES! This cable supports up to 8K @ 120Hz, so it works with my 4K and you'll have it for a future 8K upgrade. I have had this for 8 months now and it works flawlessly at 20 feet. Great cable, and priced much less than comparable brands.

Not according to my interaction with Monoprice Support. It supports 4K60, but I could not get it to support HDR, VRR or basically any other HDMI 2.1 feature. Supposedly it works at 8K60, which I couldn't confirm.

Yes it does. I recently move my sound system to a closet and I’m using this cable with an Apple TV 4K to watch all my content.

Yes it can and does. 48 Gbps will support 4K 120hz 4:4:4 at 12 bit as long as your devices do as well.

Does this support Ethernet?
Stephen D
on May 9, 2020
BEST ANSWER: HDMI carries Audio/video signal. Although capable of carrying internet information it is not used as ethernet yet. Would not buy if trying to transfer internet data. Go Ethernet cable, either cat5 or cat8

No. You will need a separate ethernet cable. In my experience this is one of the best HDMI cables currently available for 4K and up to 8K. Extremely happy with this purchase and would highly recommend.

Thanks for all the answers. TBH, I thought ethernet support was coming sooner rather than much later if at all.

Hi does this cable support HDR 10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision ?
A shopper
on Aug 3, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Not according to my experience, and successive interaction with Monoprice Support. Enabling HDR would immediately cause a signal loss, in a setup where switching the cable made everything work.

Yes. Installed a 150ft version. Dolby vision 4K 23.98fps works fine. That’s the highest bitrate you’re going to get in 4K.

What is the width of the HDMI ends of the cable? I have a small diameter conduit that I need to run this through.

Longer cable than ordered, doesn't seem to do full 1.2 bandwidth
I have this cable hooked up to my PC and finally bought an Nvidia RTX3080 to hook up to my LG G1 and the best I can get is 2560x1440 at 120fps or 4k 10bit color at 60fps. This could possibly be down to a configuration issue but I haven't had time to explore that yet.

Excellent if you need fast connection speed such as HDMI 2.2 and transmission speed if 43 hzhz.
The connection with my OLED CX with 4k/60 HZ is better, motion is imoroved, and switching programs is almost immediate. Highly recommended.

Does not support 4K120 nor HDR or VRR, at least as confirmed after checking with Monoprice Support. I could only get this cable to work at 4K60. And yes, all other devices in my setup support those features, I have everything working now (4K120 HDR G-Sync) with another brand's fiber cable.

I don't know that these actually meet their listed specifications
I purchased this cable awhile back in anticipation of Nvidia's RTX3000 series of GPUs. After finally getting a chance to truly test it out, it's given me nothing but trouble. Setting my monitor to 4k/120Hz causes the screen to flash black. Eventually, the signal is dropped entirely. Same deal if I try to enable 10-bit color or G-Sync. My only recourse is to unplug the cable, plug it back in, and quickly set the display back to 60Hz and 8-bit color before the signal crashes out on me again.
It's possible there is some other underlying hardware issue going on that I'm unaware of, and if that's the case, I'll revise my rating. But for the time being, I kind of feel like a sap for spending a considerable sum of money on an HDMI cable that works no differently than any of the free ones I've acquired over the years.

Great cables!
Although a little pricey, they're sure worth it. For the length of run I needed, I still get great color and sound. HDR also is quite noticeable with these cable compared to other brands.
