Can I share monitor, keyboard, and mouse between two computers with this kvm?.

BEST ANSWER: This is more for just the mouse and keyboard. It only has a couple USB plugs. No image capable input/output.
To also share a monitor you would need that plugged into both computers. Then would have to switch between inputs on the monitor itself.

The keyboard and mouse are probably USB 2.0, so they could be shared with two computers. The monitor is probably HDMI, so you’d need two HDMI inputs on the monitor or an HDMI splitter if some kind.

No, this is USB only. You can share keyboard and mouse but not a monitor. There are switches that allow sharing the monitor but not this one.

Is there a keyboard shortcut for toggle?

BEST ANSWER: The only toggle is the button on the switch itself. As far as aware there isn't a software command do map a keyboard action.

If both attached PC are asleep, and you toggle the switch, will the keyboard and mouse will be able to wake the PC up? I have an iogear version of this, but if the PC is asleep and you switch away from it and back to it, you can't wake it up anymore.

BEST ANSWER: Yes it will. I have this connected to my PC and a laptop, and when either is asleep I can switch the keyboard & mouse that I have on this switch to wake each device up.

BEST ANSWER: If I understand the question correctly, there is no difference in behavior. All items plugged in switch from one PC to the other and work the same. I have a portable power bank plugged into one, so that I can always have it charging. I also have a USB lamp plugged in, and my keyboard. They all switch back and forth perfectly.

I currently attach a DAC, USB key, keyboard, and mouse through this splitter. The experience is indistinguishable from plugging directly into each computer when the switch is selected to those devices. Both power and data are transmitted without issue.

Does this support USB keep alive for keyboard and mouse? or do the computers register a KM disconnect with every switch of connected computer (I understand mass storage and other devices wouldn't/shouldn't be shared, but faking computers to think keyboard and mouse still connected is desired to avoid a lot of other complications)

If you're trying to switch between 2 cameras on a single PC, no. If you're trying to switch a 1-4 usb cameras between 2 different PCs, that should be fine.

Looking for a USB priority switch that will hand off peripherals to a laptop when connected, but otherwise revert to laptop. No button presses. Is this the one?

BEST ANSWER: You need to press the button to change between 1 & 2. I experimented a little with having one or the other unplugged as it would be if you didn't have the laptop connected, but it stays on whatever one you put it on when you plug it back in. So I would say no, this is not what you are looking for. Hope this helps. :)

Simple setup, can setup to 3 periferals, single pushbutton switch. Plug and play setup no extra power requirements.
Great simple device. I use it to swap my keyboard and mouse between my Gaming desktop and my work laptop. It has a physical switch to swap between the two so there is isolation between the two PCs. It is excellent for maintaining security on a system while also quick change of devices.

The switch is working very good. It functions just like I was told it would. I am pleased with how smooth it operates. I have a laptop & a tower desk top computer using one wireless keyboard & wireless mouse for both. It is very easy to switch from one to the other. Thanks for the recommendation.

This product meets all necessary conditions, but one. It is much too difficult to determine which accessory has been chosen. The toggling
light on top of the case is too difficult to decipher laying down, and randomly oriented in a pile of cables.
The control must have a clear 1-2 function (toggle, on-on) with the chosen function highlighted on the SWITCH end.

Works as advertised! I use it to switch between a Windows 10 PC and a Linux Mint PC. Flawless operation! Wiring is more than sufficient to allow placement of the control unit.

I didn't need a full KVM, and this works perfectly for my needs. The cable length is a bit more than I need for the sit-stand setup I have, but they are small/light enough that bundling them hasn't created any issues.
