There is no specific subwoofer jack. No RCA connections.
It has the following:
Inputs: From Amp into Speaker Selector (L +, - and R +, -)
Outputs: Zone 1 (L +, - and R +, -), Zone 2, Zone 3, and Zone 4.
All connections take up to 12 gauge wire.

This has no subwoofer input. You will connect to speaker input. I uses zone 2 from my receiver to connect to the 4 zone selector input. Connect all Speaker zones and select the zone you want to hear or listen to all zones. This item worked really well for me.

No. Strictly speaker connections to allow for multiple pair to be run off two channels. It also offers volume control for each of the four pair of speakers. You will have two channels for the input and four left/right output channels.

BEST ANSWER: You can have any or all of the speakers on at the same time. And I don't think you need to worry about overloading, the selector is advertised as having a built-in impedance protection circuit.

Can i add this to a multizone audio system to add more speakers to a zone. For instance add four sets of speakers in an outdoor zone (zone 1 for instance) and then turn off/down individual sets. In essence make a 4 subzone system for zone 1 off the main?

I have had similar units like this with volume controls. The other unit seemed to loose volume quantity when using just 1 channel compared to when I hook those same 2 speakers to the amp directly it is much louder. The volume dial on the selector unit was turned up all the way. Is your unit like that with loss of volume when put thru your speaker selector or is it 1 to 1 volume?

BEST ANSWER: Been using mine for several months now, haven't noticed a loss of volume like you've described. But I've never measured that, either. If there is a volume loss, it has not been problematic, as I've been able to deliver the volume I desired to each of the speaker pairs on this system.

I have two sets of speakers, and one amplifier. Do I connect Speaker one to one channel, and speaker to channel 2 And does the channel output go to the amplifier in?
A shopper
on Oct 15, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I assume that the "two sets of speakers" are stereo each having a left and right channel, making a total of 4 speakers. I also assume that the speakers are "Passive" and not "Powered."
"does the channel output go to the amplifier in?" NO!
The "Output" of the Amplifier goes to the "Input" on the volume controls.
The speakers are then connected to the four audio "Output" controls.
I have connected mine as above from amp to volume control, I have my front Left And Right connected to Zone 1. For Zone 2 I have just the left speaker connected, Zone 3 I have just the right speaker connected as I wanted to control the rear speakers the left and right independently. Zone 4 will before for My side speakers when I can afford them.
I hope this answers your questions.

BEST ANSWER: This is a 2ch/stereo input volume control that will distribute those 2 channels to 4 zones with volume. the extron you describe is 4 mono channels. not an ideal match. if you are looking to add volume control at the rack for 4 mono channels, your best bet is probably buying 4 mono in-wall volume controls and mounting them in a 4 gang electrical box.

OK thanks for answering my question one more question. So I can use two sets of stereo speakers with its own separate volumes on one amplifier. My amplifier output goes into the input of the four channel device And my two sets of speakers goes to the output of the channel device so I can control with this Device, the vol. of ea. speakers independently from the other. Is that correct?

A good solution but a quality fail
I bought to replace an uncontrolled speaker selector for 4 sets of speakers in and outside my house. Really liked the plug-in terminals. However, after a couple weeks, one of the push button switches failed to the off position. I now have one speaker set that is effectively dead.

Does the job with 4 speakers
Unit does what it is advertised to do. But instructions are lacking clarity. The control for each speaker group has a volume knob and an on-off button. It does not tell you that pressing the button in turns that speaker group on. My one other complaint is that the fourth speaker group button, when pressed in, will not come back out. The machining of the case is out of alignment. That's okay with me because I don't need to turn that speaker group off. But if you do...

Perfect
I run my 'B' speakers from my main living room AV amp to the rear of the house and into this unit. I then have speakers run to the kitchen, bathroom, basement and backyard. This little piece of wonder allows me to select which speakers and adjust volume as well. Feels like a well made product. Heavy. Solid on/off buttons. Satisfying clicks on the volume control. Great speaker wire connectors. No issues. Great product.
