BEST ANSWER: I think you're referring to the center auto-scroll button activated by clicking the scroll wheel. This mouse supports that as part of Windows 10/7/8.1 etc. There's not much about this mouse to write home about. I'm not afraid to go cheap but this mouse really scrapes the curb. It's hard to imagine anything in this mouse being "gamer" or even mechanical quality. The RGB lighting can't be turned off, much to my chagrin, and the options are bare bone.
Truthfully I've had much better luck buying refurb Razer mice from the Chinese electronics sites.

The button under the scroll wheel is for changing the Led lights fit the mouse. The side buttons are for navigating thru your browser or File Explorer in Windows. They are for going to the previous window or next window.

Nice mouse
I?m not a gamer or even have a need for switching DPI, but it?s an upgrade from a similarly priced Logitech. Works on an iMac. Does everything I need it to. Nice quality.

Nice mouse with lots of cord,
Very nice looking, comfortable in the hand, no lag. The only con is the cord is heavy and there is alot of it ... if pulls on the mouse is hanging off a table... you need to velcro it up to take off some of the weight.

does not "light" up as advertised
this is my second mouse and this one, which was bought for me as a xmas gift, does not "light" up like the one that I bought myself by in early November. I will include two photos that show the only part that lights up is in the very center of the light bar. If I move the mouse it lights up, but when just sitting on the pad, nothing. that is not how my previous one works. It is constantly lit up all the time. very disappointed. Only second time that I received a bad product from Monoprice. Please explain what you are going to do.
Thank you, Dan S

No information about what the extra buttons do, and its not programmable with Steermouse
Three principal buttons work as they should. There are no instructions about the two extra buttons, which I would like to use for copy and paste.
(One returns you to previous screen; I have not found out what the other does.) My other mice have all been programmable with Steermouse, but this one is not. The mouse is of no use to me, and I will return it.

Great choice for entry level gaming mice
Disclaimer: Monoprice lent me this product to try in exchange for a fair and honest review
The Dark Matter Rover is a perfect entry level mouse if you are looking for better optical reaction in your control but do not need extra buttons for specific gaming needs. I use this mouse at work to give me better precision while working on digital drawings. A typical mouse will have me fighting to get to that exact spot I need to be, but the sensors on this one are accurate and never leave me questioning if I can draw something correctly on the first try. This is a great mouse for the price and I have no issues with it.

Mouse will not stop cycling through the color/dpi speed options.
The mouse will not stop at any of the color/dpi settings. It just keeps cycling through the colors. Very frustrating. No help from support.
