Does the cord output on the charger come straight out (same orientation as outlet prongs), or is it at a 90 degree angle?
Kent W
on Aug 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The cord ends are straight out at both the charger end and the pad end. At the AC outlet end it is straight out from the prongs and at the pad end it is straight out from the circular pad.

USB input is a straight connection. Charger brick is wide perpendicular to prongs so it doesn’t block other outlets.

No. Phones need to be very close to the charger. A thick case will prevent charging.

Is this charger silent/fan-less? Or does it make noise while charging?

BEST ANSWER: I have been using the item for many weeks, it is great. Very easy to place on pad. Very fast charge. No noise detected. It is a great product. Getting 2 more, one for the office and the other for daughter, who seems to keep breaking cables.

What lights or visual indications, if any, does the pad give for Ready, Charging, Fully charged or Error states? From the pictures it looks like the three blue lines might mean Ready, but they're covered up while it's in use.

BEST ANSWER: There is one LED on the front of the pad. It is red in stand-by and turns to blue when it is passing current to the device you want to charge. The pad does not indicate that the device is or is not fully charged. But this is normal for any of the Qi wireless chargers I have used.
Only drawback I see(I use it the kitchen so it doesn't matter to me), is that the LED is on when plugged into power. The LED is tiny; but pretty bright.
To sum up... Simple, red and blue for passing current or not. No fully charged indication. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

I bought 2 of these for the wife. There is a light indicator in front. Red means it is charging and blue means it is done. They work well for the price. On our Apple iPhones you do have to place it on there just right or move it around so slightly to begin the charging. There is an indicator light though. I have 3 different types and they are all like this, so not unique to Monoprice. Its all about branding.

Indicator LED shows either connected to power or supplying power to the phone. State of charge would be indicated by the phone.

This charger even charges with my Otterbox Defender case on it. It is a little picky with the position of the phone but once you get the blue light it charges fine.

I dont like it.
Super short cable length. The length of this cable was not mentioned on the item description. Unless you have an outlet 2 feet from where you are going to place this thing or you are willing to put it on the floor and bend over to grab the phone then this is for you. I buy from Monoprice because the variety of cable lengths but this one is like the one that come with the iPhone which is super short. I have no use for this thing. Well!!! Unless I buy an extension cord or a longer cable which will cost me more money. This thing is going back to sender.

Charges, but verify.
It works, but my phone (iPhone SE) has to be nearly perfectly centered on the base in order to charge. Haven't had this problem with other chargers. Disappointing to have it sitting on the charger, not charging.
