I have the Audio Technica atr2100 microphone. If i use this cable to attach to an old iphone with an earphone jack, will the microphone work, or do I still need a power source for the microphone?

BEST ANSWER: No, this will not work. Devises are looking for a TRRS connector with the second ring as the mic in. This TRS will only come in contact with the L/R headphone out of the devise.

I doub your phone's preamp would be able to generate enough signal for that to work, but you can always try. I highly suggest using a mixer, even if only a 2 channel.

I don't think that would work because I'm assuming the i phone jack is an audio output. You would need a audio input or line in connection for the mic to work.

Hello Steven, you will still need a power source to power the microphone.

That mic requires 5V DC via USB. Your iphone won't provide power.

Will this allow connection between our church mixer board line out level and my Sony Handycam mic in jack?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, generally the line out on a mixing board is female, whether it's XLR or 1/4", so I do not believe this will work. Check your mixing board to see whether it's female (which it should be). The cable you need will probably be a male XLR (or male 1/4") on one end and probably a male 1/8" tip ring sleeve (also known as a male 3.5mm tip ring sleeve). Sometimes you see tip ring sleeve abbreviated at TRS. Tip ring sleeve just means that the one cable can be used to send a L and R signal. Notice the second band of black on the tip of the small male jack in this photo. All TRS cables have a second black band. I hope this answers your question.

Hello... this is my answer for your purpose.
I would keep the cable at no more than (10’)ft in length, just to be safe of picking up any RMF noise (electrical field), but in theory; any length should be fine. If you’re running a long distance, I would run a straight XLR cable to the foot of the camera, then use a short (10ft) adapter cable. Have fun and stay safe. God bless...

I have used this both as a audio in from a portable CD player and a microphone out to a GoPro camera. I believe it would work for the Sony as well. GoPro has a weird setup so if it works through that it should work with others

Theoretically, yes. However, make sure that you have a dedicated input on your camera. I tried plugging this into my computer from my mixer (in the aux jack) and it didn't work since my computer needs TRRS instead of TRS.

I have a new S.M.S.L M500 and would like help determining how to use balanced cables to run into my Beyerdynamic Amiron Home headphones.
The balanced output on the unit is a dual left and right standard 3pin XLR and my headphones have a 3.5mm input. Beyerdynamic confirmed they can be recabled for balanced outs.
My question is do I just buy two separate female 3pin xlr to 3.5mm interconnects? Most of those options, including these, seem to be microphone cables.
What should I be looking for?

Nice product with great quality
High quality cable with reliable connectors. The cable is made of a soft material that is very flexible and smooth. Golden plated contacts contribute to the quality. Thank you.

Buyer beware
The description says "Can be used to feed a mono mic equally to both input channels on a camera or DSLR", which seems to imply that this converts a balanced XLR output to an unbalanced 1/8" stereo input, with distribution to both channels. However, the pin connection is such that it passes the balanced output directly to the 1/8" input. If you mix the left and right channels, they cancel out.
