Like others, I am trying to decide between this 24 AWG STARQUAD cable and the Premier 16 AWG. It is for use between an SMSL DAC and a Bryston power amp, just 1.5 feet. I would normally go with the 16 AWG, but there are power cables and a UPS nearby, so wondering if the STARQUAD might be better despite its lighter gauge? The Bryston has 0.775v Input sensitivity, so not looking to drive a lot of juice through. Thank you in advance for any advice!

BEST ANSWER: Go with the star quad cable. The quad configuration provides protection against magnetic interference.(Braided/foil shields only provide protection against RF interference.)

I just picked up a set of these to go between my Topping D90 and my Monoprice 887 amp. They are nice and flexible, and sound great. I had the Premier before and they also sounded really great. I had tried other, more expensive cables but liked the sound of the Premier better, so ended up sending the others back. These look and sound great and as you point out I like the starquad cable so these are a keeper. The Premier are inexpensive enough that you could just get both and do a little comparison, plus it is always nice to have a spare set around for the next piece of gear.

There will be no audible difference, and extra shielding never hurts

BEST ANSWER: Measured on a 100 ft cable, including the connectors:
Pin 1-2 = 65 pF/ft = 213 pF/m
Pin 1-3 = 68 pf/ft = 223 pF/m
Pin 2-3 = 45 pF/ft = 148 pF/m
Two cables measured with consistent results
Pin 1-2 = 65 pF/ft = 213 pF/m
Pin 1-3 = 68 pf/ft = 223 pF/m
Pin 2-3 = 45 pF/ft = 148 pF/m
Two cables measured with consistent results

This cables are up there with the very best like Mogami. Very well built, extremely quiet and nice flexible cable.
