Can the controller be moved to either side?
A shopper
on Oct 9, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Both the controller box (where the cables going to the individual legs are plugged) and the control buttons are screwed into the bottom of whatever you're using as the standing desk top, so you can place them anywhere as long as the cables extend there. Keep in mind the cables are specific lengths, so the documentation has recommended locations.

Yes, it's final position is up to you. Its attached to a length of cable that should be able to reach most places.

Could i do a 8 foot long on the main and side do a 4 foot?
A shopper
on Sep 24, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The 8' side would be hanging off quite a bit. You'd have to split ~26" of overhang between both ends. But the real issue may be the short side. The minimum dimensions are advertised as 48.8" x 55.1". So you'd probably have some of the frame sticking out of you were strictly 4'. Maybe go for 4.5' or even 5'.
I built mine 6'x5' with 28" depth and it worked out great

You can fabricate your own size and retrofit it on the table. The most important thing to keep an eye out for is the overall weight. The table has a weight limit. My setup is about 180Ibs all in. length is 7'6" by 3'

Yeah, I did something similar, there are two metal rods for each side to adjust. For the shorter side I had to cut the rods, I think uncut it needs to be at least 6 feet or something

Officially, I would say no. You would have a great deal of unsupported table on the long side. It's all about weights and balances.

No, Monoprice does not have a DIAGRAM with dimensions. There is only the minimum and maximum dimensions listed under "Full Specs". Min Assembled Dims: 27.6" x 39.4" x 24.4" / Max Assembled Dims 27.6" x 67.0" x 47.2". However, in other reviews, users have modified the support brackets to accomodate 24" and smaller depth desks.

I have mine built an in place and thoroughly love this desk. That 1 thing I'm trying to figure out is what the other settings in the controller do. I have memory 1 through 4 all mapped and high enough to wear I can have a file cabinet and some other stuff underneath the desk, but is there any way to program this to only go to a programed minimum level? So say my file cabinet is 30" tall, I don't want the desk to go down past 31".

BEST ANSWER: Those buttons just map to a number that's whatever height you want. I only use three settings - one for the low (sitting) position, one for the high (standing) position, and one for completely extended so I can get underneath for wiring changes, etc.

BEST ANSWER: Make sure you follow the max weight capacity specs in the item description on the webpage. If this capacity gets exceeded you will have a standard table that's unable to raise/lower as the motors will be overpowered. Keep in mind the weights of all items being kept on top of the table in addition to the table's weight

The supports are about 23.5 so should be fine. The corner gets a little tricky to cover all the supports but doable.

I currently have a top and it is made of two pieces. The pieces are connected with an angled bracket that is supported by the cubicle wall, and the other two ends supported by filing cabinets. Normal Cubicle set-up. . Will this product work in this scenario? Do the two pieces have to be connected together, or are there brackets at the connection point included with this product?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, there are connecting steel plates included to attach two desktops together to provide stability. Connecting the desktops together is highly recommended to mount the tops more securely. The included steel plates and the desk frame mounting points are enough to make the structure stable, but you may still use your angled bracket, if desired, if you want to reinforce your desktops or if you want to use the same mounting points. Thanks for checking.

BEST ANSWER: It is 'almost' a corner frame with 2 equal sides that can be extended upto 6 ft. So yes, you can use it in any position you want. Just tilt the frame 90 degrees and you get the effect of moving left side to right side.. I have kept my desk similar to the pics. But if I wanted, I can easily shift the table so that I can rest my arms on the right side with the monitor in the front. Hope this helps

Very good desk; expensive shipping
The desk is just as good as I hoped fort. Sturdy, easy to assemble and the motors are all working perfectly.
As a Canadian, the only thing I dislike about it was the shipping. 200 USD for shipping was very steep and I have a hard time believing that there isn't any cheaper land shipping option from the carriers.

I have been looking for a sit-stand desk for a long time but all the pre-built ones were either expensive or not that great. This one met all my criteria and was big enough to hold a 6' and 5' desktop.

Great for 1 Year, but That's It
Worked great for the first year, but as soon as the warranty was up I started having issues. Now it won't raise or lower, it's just stuck in an error (E10). I have tried troubleshooting but nothing has worked. When I called about getting a replacement control board I was told they didn't do replacement parts and my only option is to spend another $500, a little over a year later. Will not be purchasing anything from this company again.

The desk would be great, if I could find a top for it.
Yes this is the L-shape desk. This is the the third desk that I bought form Monoprice. Had an issue with one of the desk but was quickly taken care of with support from Monoprice. Move up and down smooth, has two monitors on it and a desktop and still moves with no problems. Only issues I have with the desk is it is hard to get the 4 and 6 foot top for them.
