I bought the 34418 connectors and they do not fit 22 AWG solid Cat 6.
The paired cables are too large to fit inside the insert pieces.

Would anyone please direct me to how to install this plug? I have no idea what to do with the two inserts. The first insert doesn't even have the holes aligned horizontally. Help.

BEST ANSWER: Not solid at that size. The diameter of the cable was too large to fit into the inserts. (Cable item #13560 )

could these work for Cat7 cable?

on Mar 29, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I’ve tried these with both cat6a and cat7 and they seem to work fine. Just make sure you have crimpers that will work bc cat7 is usually thicker, regular cat6 crimpers tend to have trouble with cat7 cables.

They came with 2 types of guides.. Do you need both? One of the guide is not entirely symmetrical, which way does it get on the wires?

Do Not Purchase These
Could not get these connectors to work...tried several different configurations of wires to no avail. There should be instructions included since the lead is staggered...meaning it has 3 pairs of holes in a top row, and 2 single holes below that. What wire goes where??? I put these in the trash and ordered some standard ones form Amazon and they worked fine. Don't waste your time on these

Fit for purpose, but hard to use
These are hard to use. The connector uses a 3-piece design. The connector, the wire block, and a wire guide.
The wire block terminates 3x2 wires on one level, and 2x1 wires a little lower. That makes inserting all 8 wires at one time impossible. They won't line up. I found that inserting them in pairs works well enough, but creates bends in the wires that get in the way when pushing the block back toward the wire jacket. That process is doable, but painful. Plan on 10+ minutes per connector, and sore fingers after one or two.
This connector includes a CAT5-style strain relief. It can be crimped with a crimp tool that crimps the strain relief.
Once installed this connector is 100% fit for purpose.

Straight forward once you figure it out
I ordered these to terminate CAT6A cables. I am not sure what the 3rd small separator piece is for. There are no instructions. What I did was lay the gold connector with the tab down, open end facing me. Then I lined up the wires per the Ethernet spec. I then inserted the wires into the plastic holding piece. The flat end faces down. After pushing the wires through the holding piece, I cut the excess wires, then inserted the wire and the holding piece into the gold connector, crimped the connector and that was it. I first tested it out on some extra cable I had and then did it on the actual cable. It supported gigabit speed. (That was the fastest I currently have).
