How does the XLR cable (item 4754) compare to the 5x pricier Monoprice cable (item number 33837)? I need to connect my DAC with AMP. Would there be any difference? Thanks.

If there is a difference 99% of people in the world would not be able to tell the difference with whatever equipment they are using. The premier series is one very well built cable already. Now if you have like top top of the line equipment then maybe it does make sense to go with the monolith cable just for the heck of it. But I couldn’t imagine being able to tell a difference on 99.9% of equipment out there. I feel that once you hit a certain level of quality in the cable. There’s really no need to buy anything more expensive.

I have the Monolith version in 2 meter length. I selected that cable as it has more shielding and insulation on each wire as well as overall shielding. It also has an all metal connector end. My area that the wires ran through had some power wires in close proximity so I wanted all the shielding I could get. This was still a fairly reasonable priced cable set and didn’t want to have to purchase twice if I wasn’t satisfied with the lower priced cable.

I am sure the Monolith is a much higher grade and more rigid cable then the Premier series. I purchased 12 of the Monolith for my system and am very happy with them. They provide a drawing of the cable in the specs and show they upgrades.

Both are excellent quality but the look of the silver cables are much nicer in my opinion.

Any chance there will be a 3M or longer cable coming soon? My sub is about 3M away from my processor and the 2M cable is not long enough.

I own three. I understand that this cable utilizes "multi-guage" for each conductor. "Three different solid oxygen-free copper conductor gauges for best bass and midrange optimization". What are the different guages of OFC used?

Any chance Monoprice would consider coming out with a longer version of this cord? I could use a nice long version for my subwoofer, as sometimes moving the sub around the room will achieve best placement, but a 2m xlr is a bit too short to do this. Thanks!

The new Marantz AV 8805 uses the European pinout which reverses pin 2 and 3. Pin 2 is hot(+)and pin 3 is cold(-). Can the pins be reversed on one end of the cable?

Happy with the look and construction of these XLR cables.
This is my first XLR cable. Used between my Headphone Amp and my Dac. Seems to be well made and I like what I'm hearing so far. Initial impression is that with these cables the sound is a little more open or more clear than with the coaxial cables but I need to spend more time comparing the two. I like how the connection is solid into my pieces.

Monoprice XLR cables are well made and sound great. Why spend thousands on audio cables when these exist?

Good product. Great company. Comparable prices with other competitive products.
Good quality cables. Not sure if this is worth the price since I did not do any A/B test. The price of this cable is comparable to other competitive models based on paper specifications.

I can't say I actually hear a difference from my pervious xlr cables but the monolith xlr's are a more robust build and have a nicer cable jacket compared to the one's I was using. For the few extra dollars it was worth it for me. I already have the redmere in wall hdmi cables and they have served me well. Staying with a company offering quality cables at a very reasonable price.
