Can the speaker be oriented vertically?
Samson L
on Dec 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't use it that way, but don't see why it wouldn't work. All the sides of the speaker use the same uniform curved design, and there are no controls or cables attached to them.
Also, the feet are 4 self-adhesive rubber circles that you apply yourself, so you could apply them to the side of the speaker instead of the bottom of it with no trouble at all.
Hope it helps!

If you do, I'd suggest putting it on its left side, since that's the side with the power cable. You might want to get some soft rubber pads to protect the finish. I looked at mine and it doesn't have too steep of curves, that it wouldn't be stable.

I purchased additional rubber feet and mounted them on the end, so I could do just that when I had a pair of them connected for stereo usage. Absolutely love these... Paired or by themselves.

I think it could. The little rubber feet come in a bag, so you can stick them where you want.

Can you set this speaker up using a desktop computer?
Don D
on Aug 1, 2022
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it would make a decent desktop setup, and has plenty of connections on the back to make that work. Just be warned, it says "TrueWireless" , but it is NOT truly wireless. It has no battery, so MUST be plugged into an AC outlet to operate.

It has bluetooth and an aux input, so if your desktop has either bluetooth or a 3.5mm output, this speaker will work with it.

I plugged my record player on the RCA inputs and the volume is barely audible. Anyone else experience this?

Phono output is very low compared to line output and requires RIAA equalization as well as pre-amplification. Like they said above: use a phono pre-amp.

Will these automatically switch to standby at some point after the music stops? Will they power up out of standby when a music signal is present?
A shopper
on May 4, 2021
BEST ANSWER: If you take away the music source, but leave the speaker on (powered up), it will play music again if you select the speaker on the device you are sourcing from. (phone, laptop, etc.) The speaker appears on my phone as Soundstage 3.

The unit tends to power on unexpectedly, whether in standby mode or not. I mainly use it for the aux and Bluetooth connections, but it will randomly come on once it detects a certain power surge.

what is the crossover point of the subwoofer output? does plugging in a subwoofer remove deep bass from the speaker signal and route it only to the sub, or does it just duplicate the signal?
A shopper
on Nov 27, 2022
I have a 10-in sub routed from my speaker but it is a duplicated base and does not remove the base output from the main speaker to do that you would have to go from the sub too the unit with hard wire

Good product
Works great. Awesome sounds quality. It could be a bit more clear but it is definitely worth $100 and I love all the inputs and sub out on the back.

Solid sound
Overall great sound from this box. It's well-built (hefty) and the overall function and design is good. It seems like a good value. If I'm nit-picking I'd say There should be a status light on the front of the unit, and maybe sort of visual indicator for the equalizer. The equalizer is responsive overall and really helps you create the sound profile to suit your audio. The remote is convenient and well-designed but the sensor range and scope is not great. Overall, I'd recommend it if sound quality and value is a priority.

Sweet sound
The biggest downside of these speakers is that The Sweet Spot is directly in front of them with the soft domes so placement is critical to the high-end output that being said when they're well placed they are fantastic

Worth it
Not a 5 only because its true sound comes alive at louder volumes. Therefore, when listening at low volumes, you?re not experiencing the true range and power of these speakers. I got 2 and linked together perfectly. Love them. Beautifully made as well.

The poolside rocks again!
EXCELLENT overall sound and it also has a decent remote control. Bluetooth connectivity is easy and solid! It is a very nice replacement, for my Parrot Boombox (I had for about 20 years), and has twice the power (120 watt - D type amplifier) !

Good value, bass heavy, but treble light.
Overall, the speaker is designed well and assembled with good materials. The controls are intuitive and the subwoofer-out connector is a big plus for those needing additional low-end capability at higher volumes. The sound quality is similar to the BEATS Beatbox, but with less clarity. Despite having two tweeters, the treble is a bit lacking. Even with the treble adjusted to its highest level, it seems muted relative to the ample amount of bass provided by the aluminum woofer and rear bass port. The 120 total watts is more than enough for a large living room or kitchen w/o the need to go to max volume and producing distorted output.

Enjoyable
Great overall sound quality. Very powerful low end bass capabilities. Remote isn't the greatest and the standby mode tends to be intermittent at times but I enjoy it. Love the design, also.

Great sound, but didn't last much longer than a year
I usually never have problems with monoprice items, but I figured this might save someone a headache. I've been using this speaker as a living room TV speaker and it's worked pretty well. About 4 months ago, the optical input failed, so I switched to the RCA input. That proceeded to work for another 3 months until one day I turned on the speaker and no sound came out of the speaker from any of the inputs including Bluetooth. It would pair no problem, just no sound. Also, when switching TV inputs from the cable box HDMI to Netflix streaming app built into the TV, the volume would either be way too loud or too soft and vary with each show selected, whereas I never had that problem with the TV speakers and the previous sound bar I used. The sound is great, when it was working. Just bummed it barely outlived it's warranty.
