I need a 'y' splitter ethernet adaptor. ???

BEST ANSWER: To my knowledge, due to the way Ethernet cables work, you can't use a Y-splitter without corrupting the signal. I once tried hooking two devices up to a Y-splitter, that was for some reason built into the wall at a friend's house, and the moment I plugged in the second device the first one immediately lost it's signal due to the second one 'interrupting'. If you want to hook two devices up to a single Ethernet port you'll need a switch or a hub, preferably a switch. Switches can be rather pricey, so if you already have a spare port available on your router you'd probably be better off running two separate cables side-by-side from it.

BEST ANSWER: This cable has solid core wires with each pair in a separate channel of a plus shaped plastic separator, then that is wrapped in a clear plastic covering, then the drain wire and a conductive foil covering, then the exterior insulation.
