Is this sturdy enough to mount a monitor on?

BEST ANSWER: This unit is capable of mounting a monitor. Please note it is a “rolling” dest so the mount needs to secure the monitor tightly so it will not move/shift if the desk is rolled.

Can I change out the casters to a more rugged wheel?

No not adjustable at all. The wheels at the base are somewhat adjustable so that the table top can be made level, but other than height, not many adjustments.

What monitor arm works best for this desk? Is it likely to be unstable if used with item #15526?

Monoprice Gas-Lift Height Adjustable Sit-Stand Mobile Rolling Workstation Laptop and Computer Desk V2
Workstream by Monoprice Single Monitor Adjustable Gas Spring Desk Mount for 15~34in Monitors
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this should be a good combination and the easy monitor adjustment works well with desk height adjustments to keep the monitor at comfortable levels.
We recommend keeping the center the weight and lower the center of gravity as much as possible when the desk is being moved to maximize stability. Also note that this monitor mount does not lock the screen position in place and instead uses counter-balancing force to provide quick monitor adjustments, so the monitor could move while the desk is in motion. It shouldn't be a problem during use, but if you need something more stable, we have other type of monitor mounts that are less adjustable.

The desk is very stable. We use it with a single 24 inch monitor at the back. I would not have any reservations about using a monitor arm with the desk as long as attention is given to keep it in balance.

Why does this only go up to 42"? I'm 6'3 so this isn't tall enough for a standing desk. Any plans to release another one that has this small of a tabletop but taller?
Jimmy M
on Jun 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, thanks for the comment. No plans yet for extended height versions, but it's something we could consider for future models. The heights for these desks were spec'd to cover a range that would allow for comfortable typing and writing positions, ideally where people could use their pens, mouse and keyboard with the shoulders and wrists relaxed, and with the elbows bent at 90 degrees or with the forearms slightly pointing downwards. During our tests, taller people around your height found the desks comfortable for writing and typing, so you could check if your forearms might end up flat or slightly pointing downwards at around 42" as well. If that works but screen positions won't be high enough, you could consider monitor or laptop stands or mounts to get the screen higher while keeping the keyboard and mouse at a comfortable height. Hope this helps.

The dimensions in the drawings appear incorrect. All the photos indicate the desk is wider that it is deep. The dimensions claim the opposite. Can someone measure the top?

On the picture, it says that max height is 45.25" but in a comment you said it was 42". Is the 45.25" height a newer model or is that a typo?

What is the height from the floor to the top of the base? Or how much clearance is needed if you are seated on a sofa?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, this rolling desk is height adjustable, so you should be able to find the right height setting to clear your sofa. The height from the floor to the base of the top can be easily adjusted from 29" to 44.75" for when you want to use the desk while standing. Hope this helps.

I'm wondering about the clearance needed below a sofa to have the wheels and base slide under. I'm looking for the height to the top of the base, not the table. Thanks for your help!

Overall a Great table, easy to assemble, sturdy but a little too tall or high at lowest level
I liked that it was easy to assemble. Make sure you tighten the bolts really tight so the table doesn't move at all. We had to retighten but very secure now. If you want a standing desk this would probably be great but for a sitting desk it is a little high for typing on a laptop or even when I added an additional keyboard. It is causing shoulder problems from being up so high at it's lowest level. I wasn't expecting that when I measured it and unfortunately I threw away the box so I can't return it.

Good, but adjustment level could be improved
Overall, happy with this desk for my need. This is my secondary WFH desk. Being at home ALL THE TIME, it's nice to be able to move around and work at a different spot like the backyard deck on a nice day. Sure, I can take the laptop to work on the patio table but this allows me to work comfortably both sitting and standing with a consistent set up of monitor, keyboard, everything already configured the way I like it. The desk is a good size, not too small, and it's more sturdy than it may seem. The only deduction is the height adjustment is not always smooth and can be 'stuck'. With the lever pressed, the top often doesn't move easily, it takes a good hard pull or push on the desk top to get it going up or down. Another note, the desk edge is tapered, so certain shallow clamps for desk lamp or monitor arm may not hold well.
