BEST ANSWER:Probably not single strand, and I say that just based upon the flexibility and the product description which says, "We bend tested this cable over 5,000 times with no damage to the cable or change in performance. The premium aluminum connectors provide an extra measure of durability." You would not expect that kind of testing for a single strand. On the other hand, it is pretty slim and if it is let's just guess 28 AWG stranded, that would suggest seven wires in each which would have to be on the order of 40 AWG. The best I can tell you is that these things are SUPER and I doubt very much you will be disappointed. I LOVE mine!

Would you add a picture of the whole item please? What is the length of the bifurcated section? Can it be extended to effectively double the length of the cable? If i have speakers 6’ from each other, will each be able to receive one rca jack while the source can plug into the 1/8” between them with your 6’ option?

BEST ANSWER:Good question!!! The answer is "No." The bifurcated portion of my cable is about six or seven inches. What you'll probably want to do is get the shortest of these (1.5 ft or 3 ft) and then get two single RCA-M to RCA-F to make the individual connections. I wish I had seen this question in time for the answer to do you some good, but maybe it will help someone else.

This cable is used to connect the output of our standalone DAC (digital-to-analog converter) to our Sennheiser RS165 wireless headphone base unit.
At first, we were using a $4.99 generic RCA-to-stereo miniplug cable from the local drugstore. It worked OK, but the sound can reasonably be described as being a bit thin and dull; not bad but uninspiring.
We connected the Monoprice cable in place of the generic drugstore cable, and we played music continuously through the cable to the headphone base unit for a couple of days while we were away from home for the weekend. When we got around to listening we noticed that voices/dialog on TV sounded slightly fuller and clearer. The same result occurred with music - slightly clearer and more involving, more enjoyable. It's NOT a big difference; it's a small but pleasing improvement. One example: During a scene in a TV mystery series we heard a character take a phone call then he turned suddenly as someone approached. I replayed that episode via the Monoprice cable and this time I was able to discern the footsteps of the approaching person, where previously the person speaking on the phone obscured the sound of soft footsteps. So far, that's the only tangible example I can give other than to say we're overall a little happier using this cable compared to the drugstore cable. Again, no big deal. But, it works fine and seems well made, too.
These are perfect for me and great pricing as usual.
These are perfect! I have the other cables that look like these but they do not fit right in my smartphone, they keep falling out. But these work great and I am very happy with the sound quality and they seem to be made very well. We'll see how they hold up over time, but so far so good. I use them to go from smartphone into AUX input on my vehicle.
Sounds pretty good for the money. Cable thickness and jacks were smaller than I expected. Must be pretty thin wire gauge inside cover. Using with Audioquest Dragonfly DAC to run out to integrated amplifier.
