What is the diameter of the metal surrounding the 2.5mm ends? But a similar cable elsewhere which would not fit into Sennheiser HD497 as the metal cover is too thick.

To use these with M560 you also need to use 2 adaptors - 3.5mm stereo end to 2.5 mm Mono. Monoprice P/N 7125. Looks nice, works well, super cheap.

Does anyone know what wire and insulation this cable is made with???
A shopper
on May 7, 2018
The outside has a cloth-like material mesh coating. Nicely made, but the replacement I bought is a lot “jankier” and stiffer overall than the original one that came with my m1060’s. Has some kinks that won’t really come out. Good cable if you don’t mind that.

Is this compatible with the monolith m650 headphones?
James M
on Jan 18, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I purchased this to replace my M650 cable and it works fine with those headphones. Be aware that the cable I received had a straight end on the 3.5mm side, not the 90 degree angle shown in the photograph. Otherwise everything was as expected.

No. I ran into that same problem. Monoprice doesn’t sell a replacement cable for those headphones any more. Monoprice screwed both of us and they don’t back up their products.

What type of 2.5mm are they ? TRS ? They seem to have one band so are they mono ?

BEST ANSWER: They are TS connectors . However, if you are making your own cable, a 2.5mm TRS connector will also work if the wires terminate at only the tip and the sleeve and the ring goes unused.

Does this cable have four wire strands to the headphone jack? I.e. Is it a quad wire cable? I need to convert the cable to a 4-pin XLR termination. Would this cable work for that? PS - I already bought the cable but need to confirm that first before I reterminate it.

John, the minimum to the headphone jack would be three. Two each go to the headphones making a total of four, but some cables do not take the four strands to the jack and only take three. I need to clarify how this headphone is constructed - four wires or three to the headphone jack.

will this cable work with the M570 headphones?
A shopper
on Apr 21, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Most likely... the headphone jacks on the 570 look to be 2.5mm. The 3.5mm end would fit cell phones and with a ¼" adapter it would fit a stereo component.

Is this cable available with a 1/4" plug instead? My existing M1060 cable doesn't work well (as-if a little too small) in a 1/4" adapter, so I would like a new one with that plug built in.

Nice OEM replacement
I was a bonehead: I accidentally got the original cord caught under the desk chair wheels and did considerable damage to the cord while pushing back from my desk.... It was a bummer....such a nice cord, too....
Turns out, you can get a like replacement - it's exactly like the original and sounds just as great. The only difference....I route it differently so I can avoid the past faux pas.

Not the cable of choice for audiophiles but it does a commendable job at a reasonable price. I am a fanatic about sound reproduction and I have bought many of them.

Works Great for my Drop HiFiman HE 4XX
I needed a replacement cable for those but couldn't find anything obvious, so I gave these a shot.
Very pleased with the purchase, although mine have a straight connector rather than the pictured 90 degree connector. Not a problem, but it does have a threaded connection for 1/4" cables. It still works, but is just a little annoying.
