Can this model be mounted to the wall? It only states that it has a desk clamp

BEST ANSWER: No, this mount offers tension (as pictured on site) and /or dual bolt (which was a surprise) that would go through the surface of the desk and then secured with a plate, washer, lock washer and nut on the other side.

Do they make a mount that can physically bolt to the desk instead of a clamp?

I have mine clamped to my deck holding 2 34" ultra wides stacked on top of each other. It is solid but I bet would be really solid if I mounted with through holes

How far forward can 3 27” monitors in this position \ _ / be moved from the back of the desk I need them to touch the edge closets to me also can’t have any gaps between the 3?
A shopper
on Nov 24, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I'm assuming you are in landscape for this, and it will vary a bit depending on the exact width and depth of the monitors. It also depends on the vertical angle of the arms (closer to flat gives more reach). But my stab at calculating is: side arms are about 30" if fully extended. Assuming 25" left-right between them all for 3 touching 27" monitors, a bit of trig gives about 16.5" forward as the 3rd side of the triangle. The clamp mount gives you another 2" forward. And the actual mount on the end of each arm plus the thickness of the monitor is another 5". So, grand total, I'd estimate you can get the front faces of these 23.5" from the back edge of the desk, max.

I use it with 3 28" it is a bit small for them but works, I think with 27" you will have more U shape than I have. The arm holds the monitor close enough not to have a gap. I have a tiny gap but like I said I use it with 28".

BEST ANSWER: Hi, this could work for the height clearance that you need. The base of the monitor arms can be positioned higher on the center pole to get the extra height. It may affect stability a bit if your desk is shaky since the monitors will be higher up, so make sure your desk is sturdy and that this product is clamped or mounted securely. Hope this helps.

BEST ANSWER: I have this configured with three 27" monitors (small bezel) and they can only handle about a ~160 degree angle from the center monitor. I have drilled holes (x2) in the desk to accommodate putting the stand further forward. The center monitor can only handle about 10" forward of the stand. If this were configured to be connected to the back of the desk, it would definitely be too far away for my preference.

Can this be mounted using the grommet/cable management holes in a desk? If so, what size holes will work?
A shopper
on Nov 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this product does include hardware for through hole mounting. The best way to do it is to drill 2x 1/2" holes for the 2 bolts to maximize the mounting surface area. Or if using only 1 grommet hole, the 2 bolts could fit through a 70-100 mm grommet hole. Just make sure that the desk material is not crumbly or hollow. Thanks for checking.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, the clamp itself has a 5.5" wide x 5" deep base that sits above your desk, and needs at least 3.5" under your desk to clamp on. Having a bit more space would make it easier to tighten the clamp screws. This mount also comes with through-hole mounting hardware for applications where an edge clamp might not work. Hope this helps, thanks.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, it's possible, this monitor arm allows for the center of middle monitor vesa mount to be set as high as 33" above the desk. That should provide enough clearance for monitors to be positioned below it, but please measure the monitors you plan to use and consider that your range of adjustments could get limited with that setup. BEST ANSWER: Hi, although there are hex bolts that attach the rotating joints that could affect rotation tightness, they are not really meant to be adjustable. Is this unit compatible with the Varidesk ProPlus 36?
A shopper
on Apr 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this might work with your desk but you would need to check a few things:
1. Check the weight capacity of your desk. This mount will add approximately 25lbs. It might require the user to exert more effort to lift your desk once you have this mount plus three monitors.
2. This mount needs 3.5 inches clearance at the back of the desk so the clamps could be tightened on a flat surface. Please check that there are no protruding parts or frame material that might prevent the clamp from attaching firmly.
3. Alternatively, if there is no clearance at the back of your desk, you could consider drilling a couple of 1/4" through holes to mount this product.
Hope this helps.

BEST ANSWER: While the size in that setup would likely not be an issue, it doesn't look like that model has vesa mounting holes. There's workarounds with vesa mount kits to adapt non-vesa monitors but with the way they hold the monitor would ruin the flush-ness with the top monitor imo.

on Oct 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it could work but we recommend against it. Although it's a small difference, it reduces the clamped area and positions the vertical pole closer to the back edge. Given the weight of the stand, monitors, and the possibility that the monitors could be positioned forwards and therefore exert a levered force, it might not be good to reduce the base support area.
A better and more solid alternative would be use through-hole mounting if you're able to drill 2x 1/4" holes on your desktop. Hope this helps.

I have 2 x 34 in ultra-wide monitors (32.5 in width) and was wondering what size (if any) monitor one would be able to fit in the center position if they were both mounted to the outside area?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, you would need to go smaller than 32" for the middle monitor, but even then your usable angles would be limited given the wide monitors on the outside arms. For larger monitors, you might get more flexibility and adjustment range from using separate monitor mounts. Thanks for checking.

How do you tighten the two arm wing mount from swiveling? For example if I push the left monitor back then the right monitor moves forward because the whole wing moves. The plastic handle screw in mile pipe mount this turned tight but don’t know how to tighten more to keep it from swiveling. Otherwise great mount!

BEST ANSWER: Hi, sorry to hear about the movement issue and thanks for your purchase. I'm wondering if the upper arm pivots might be too new or too tight from the factory. If so, the easiest solution might be to "exercise" pivots above the arm's base so they move easier at the higher parts. You might be able to use a hex wrench (or maybe screw driver) to loosen some screws if needed. Alternatively you might also be able to use some tape on the pole to slightly increase the diameter before positioning the arm on top of it, although this isn't ideal but just something you could try if the above doesn't work.

Can this mount be installed on a standing desk equipped with a Vari cable management tray directly underneath the mount? I suppose the tray could be removed prior to installing the mount, but I'm worried the alignment might not allow the mount's two adjustment knobs to fit inside the tray. Even if the adjustment knobs fit inside the tray, I am worried they would fill up most of the middle section of the tray, leaving less space for cables.

Very Sturdy!
I'm very satisfied with the monitor mount. It was a lot heavier than I thought it would be. The gas arms ship with the adjustment backed all the way out. They won't hold up a coffee cup lol. Once adjusted, it supports my three 27" monitors with ease. I highly recommend!

Great triple monitor mount, but not for 3 24"+ monitors
No complaints about this, easy setup, great price and quality. I have 2 24" and 1 27" monitor, all landscape, and the mount doesn't have much extra room to maneuver, so I wouldn't recommend this for 3 monitors bigger than that unless some are rotated 90 degress.

Perfect for what I wanted.
It does exactly what I need it to do. Not disappointed in the least.
This has been my first monitor arm.
It was simple and straight forward to set up. Tools were included. (If I recall correctly)
Cable channels provided the space I needed to route my cables.
My only gripe is that it took a few hours of searching the web to find it.
At the time, monoprice was the only retailer that was selling a black triple monitor mount that was fully adjustable using gas spring.
All the others were chrome in color.

Excellent
It is a nice set up, it works well very sturdy and easy to adjust. All the cables are tucked away. It declutters the desk. The only negative is the center arm takes some adjusting to have it level with the outside arms.

Think 2x before use it over 27?
Far from perfect, it is to small for 28? monitors, barely makes it. I wouldn?t recommend it for over 27? as arms at to short. Once figured out how squeeze the 28? monitors it is ok. Can?t move them to any direction but holds the right and tight.

Good mount
This mount is good. It holds two monitors, one 24?, one 22?, and my laptop (via a Monoprice Vesa laptop stand) very well. All seem secure and there are hex screws in all the ?joints? to increase or decrease tension to ensure the screens don?t droop etc. and to allow the arms to move less if inadvertently bumped.
One con is that the two outer mount arms are connected in the middle & can be difficult to adjust without the opposite side moving in the other direction. I have to hold one side in place when moving the other to ensure it doesn?t move. The ?joint? hex screws can be loosened but I confirmed with Monoprice Customer Service that these screws can be loosened too much & eventually the arms would disconnect. I was unable to loosen them to the point that the arms would adjust independently, without me me holding one while moving the other & honestly besides the infrequent bump or inadvertent adjustment, once I had the screens in the right spots, my workflow doesn?t require frequent adjustment so this is fine for me.
Another con is that if you do want to adjust the gas arm or joint flex tension, you have to use a provided hex wrench. It would have been better & easier for the joints to have hand turn screw adjustments or an easy on mount storage option for the wrench. I ended up duct taping the hex wrench to the back of the mount for easy access in the event I need to use it again.
Otherwise this is a good mount for my multiple screen setup and I recommend it.
