BEST ANSWER: The 1.6FT is definitely 26AWG. I received one and wasn't very happy with it as the package stated it was also only 3A as well even though this page is advertising it as 5A. Customer service was less than helpful in helping me resolve it as well.

Monoprice Essentials USB Type-C to Type-C 2.0 Cable - 480Mbps, 5A, 30/26AWG, Black, 2m (6.6 ft)
For those who have questions about AWG. The smaller the number, the larger the cable. Therefore, if you get a shorter cable, the AWG number will be larger (30) and if you get a longer cable, the AWG number will be smaller (26).. 26 AWG is better than 30AWG.
An example: When you need an extension cable for your electric lawnmower, you'll need to get 12 AWG extension cable. If you use 13AGW or higher number, the power will not be able to go through the cable and it will overheat and probably catch on fire or your lawnmower will be underpowered and may malfunction.
For the purpose of these USB cable, if you get 26AWG cables, you got the better version vs 30 AWG.

Big-a** cable!
Cable works very well moving the electrons back and forth. Unfortunately, it is too thick and stiff for me to comfortably use in the car. Guess I'll just have to compromise a little on amperage capacity.

Nice Cable for Charging Laptop
I use this cable in combination with a Monoprice charger (PID 33467) with great results. I am able to charge my Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga laptop at 60 W no problem. The cable is much thicker than your normal USB cable, but that is expected for a cable this long rated at 5 A. Despite its thickness, it is not unreasonably stiff. (Don't get me wrong, it is a bit stiff, but I don't find it to be a problem. It is just flexible enough to not be annoying.) I am happy with this purchase.

Connector pops out
High quality cable but the connector comes out of phone a lot. Maybe due to thicker than normal cable being a bit stiffer and me holding phone in car with a lot of movement. I will buy a smaller AWG cable to see if that helps..
