How easy is it to raise the desk? I envision sitting and standing and will want to move the desk multiple times a day. I have shoulder and upper back problems and don't want to cause strain to them. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: It's very easy to move- I bought it to use at trade shows and have carried it many times, It is heavy for its size- 22l bs. but it has handles at both ends that make it easy to carry with both arms. If you can find something else that weighs around 20 lbs., you could test picking it up and moving it to see if it is do-able given any physical limitations.

The desk is great, but I have an iMac computer which is top-heavy. I am concerned the computer can fall over when I raise the desk so I have someone hold it for me. However, it is not heavy and the cyst device works great. I think it is a great product, and you would not have a problem with the standard monitor.Enter an answer to this question.

It takes some work both up and down with an iMac on there. It does have a assist which helps lift it up but then it takes some pushing to get it down and lock.
The tricky part is releasing both latches at the same time. If one latch releases on one side it gets wonky and the other latch sticks then you start over.

I only use it standing. But I tried lowering and raising a number of times and it is very easy. You shouldn't have any trouble. I love the desk because it is very sturdy (as opposed to the last one I bought) and has a large surface so I can have my laptop on it and still have some work space. I give it 5 stars!

The desk raises quite easily. Lowering it requires a bit of leverage, but it's also easy.
However, you should know that the desk is heavy. You'll need someone to help you get it in place if you have problems with your shoulders and upper back.

As someone who can relate to your issues, you'll find that this desk should work perfect. It's really easy to raise it up with my 15" laptop since it's spring and shock assisted. The whole unit is easy to move and works really well. I recommend it.

It depends of the weight of your monitor. I have a large monitor that slightly exceeds the recommended max weight and it is somewhat difficult to raise (lowering is no problem). I did try it with a smaller monitor and it was much easier to raise.

It is very easy to raise and lower this desk, which operates smoothly and can be positioned at any preferred height.. I chose this item because of it's simplicity of design and use, along with it's small footprint.

It depends on what you put on it. If all you are using is a laptop or notebook it is very easy to operate. It is well designed and constructed. I am impressed with the quality and recommend this product.

It does take a good amount of manual effort to lift and lower this desk. It does mitigate some of the weight, but you might be better off with an auto-lift/ lower desk.

How easy is it for just one person to raise it up? I do not have an extra person to help with "the other end", it is just me.

BEST ANSWER: There is a strong spring and pneumonia tube combo that actually creates the opposite effect. It raises up almost to easily - the top shoots up when I release the latch mechanism. I need to lean on it with my body weight to control it. Both raising and lowering are doable by a single person though.

BEST ANSWER: It has a small half disc like thin rubber pad on each corner of the legs to prevent scratching and slippage. I have used this product for about 6 months and love it. It is easy to raise and lower it and has not slipped or marred my desk surface. I am very happy with my purchase and it was easy to set up!

The frame base is metal. I recommend placing it on something like a desk pad or mat. A yoga mat could work.

I’m not sure why you would want to try to do that. I have mine on a table, and the weight of the monitor and keyboard is a decent amount of its weight carrying ability. I ended up switching to a rocking type of stool instead of a chair because the height when I stand is priority, and the stool raises me up higher than a chair did when in the flat position. I would not try it.

As long as the lower stand held up it might work. They weight over 20 lbs so it'll be a lot of weight for the lower stand which would be expanded to it's highest level--and that might just make it too shaky to be able to hold the weight of the additional stand and your computer.. Good luck.

When raising the desk, what is the weight on the lifter's arms approximately? I am recovering from back injury. The doctor told me not to lift anything more than 10 lbs. Also, does it take force to push it down when you want to lower it? How much?
Keith J

BEST ANSWER: This desk doesn’t have a gas filled piston to assist you while raising the desk. The weight would be the weight if whatever you have resting on the desk plus about 5lbs. If you keep your back straight you should be able to do most of the lifting with your arms.

It takes very little effort to lift it up. Only a little more effort to push it down, but the angle to push down makes that easier to do. Also, varies with how much weight you have on the desk for a monitor or other items.

Maximum Assembled Dimensions23.0" x 30.0" x 19.7". That's 23" deep, not 34.4" deep as stated by Irv S. Which is correct? Irv or the web page?
