I bought 10 sets 5 to use and 5 for backup because of the great price. After putting the lights on our tree the very first set I used blinks on and off when touched. It stays on if not touched. That’s 1 out of 5 sets defective (20% defective). Don’t know if I can return the bad set after the holidays, but given the price it’s a good value.
Excellent lights, only snag as one other person mentioned that the way they are packaged, you end up having to adjust (and untwist) the wire at each bulb initially to get them to sit flat. Kind of a pain the first time, but oh well...
In the future, if you could add PURPLE (without getting rid of red orange and yellow), this would be amazing! As with most LED lights, the blue and green are stronger overall - purple might help pull the overall light more towards red, and purple looks really awesome too!
Good color and wiring - poor packaging (wire roll) (4.5 out of 5 rating)
Good , no frills price on LED lights. Would like to give 4.5 out of 5.
Every set of lights is based on a basic 50ft length with coupler to make longer strings (2 for 100ft, etc.). Intensity is very good for price. time will tell how they do with intensity fade over the next few years.
Would give a 5 star except the manufacturing process rolls instead of folds the light strings for packaging. That creates a large tangle at 100 and greater lenths. To get full length, there are two options:
1. Unwind entire length and untwist the wires to remove the resultant kinks. Time consuming but good for flat, long runs or bushes.
2. Unwind and place on a plastic spool and then unwind off spool as you install feature.
For the tree wraps I used option 2 above. Once rolled on the spools it was easy to unwrap around the tree trunk and branches. In some ways for 200 ft lengths this will actualyl become my preferred given the very long initial length.
