Do these have holes for bolting the speakers to the stands? In my case I am use Revel M106s

BEST ANSWER: They do not have predrilled holes which allows them to be fitted to a wider variety of speakers. Or if the stands are in a safe position blu tack is usually enough to secure them. Add clean sand to posts for even more stability. Consider isolation pucks for base if you have a hard surface floor. Comes with spikes for carpet.
I simply used a hand drill and a cardboard template to transfer the speaker bolt pattern to the top plate. Of course your speakers bolt pattern needs to be smaller than the plate. Worked out great for my Bowers and Wilkins CM6s2 bookshelf speakers. Tip:Do not over tighten your speaker mounting bolts. They just need to be snug not tight.

Would these stands work with the Alta Alyssa's? They are 14" deep, by 9.5" wide.

BEST ANSWER: The top plate measures roughly 8.5” x 6”. My 24in Monolith stands are supporting KEF Q350s, which are about 12” x 8.25” and they fit just fine. As long as you secure the speakers firmly to the stands, I think you’d be okay. I used 4 large Command strips per speaker on mine, but a lot of audio guys recommend using Loctite Fun-Tak mounting putty.

you need to look at its "Specifications" and if its top plate will work with the size of your speakers, also its weight capacity. Anyway, these are a great value and, for example, if the top plate is too small, you can always make a larger one and place it on top. Good luck

They stands are strong and sturdy with a large base for the speaker to set on.
You may want some flat cork board between the stand and the speaker to isolate
them a little from the stand.

I don't know what you mean by "screw in nut," but they come with small rubber/plastic feet that can be used on hardwood floor. The feet of the stands are pointed and are designed to be used with thick carpet. However, the extra feet are designed to be put on the floor so that the pointed feet fit inside. Its a good design that is sturdy, doesn't slide and won't harm the floor. I use mine in that configuration on hardwood with no issues.

I have B&W 702 S2 speakers. These speakers are larger than bookshelf size and are meant to be floorstanding. For optimal sound, I need to raise in height by 20-24". I am considering mounting each 702 on a pair of these stands (so 4 stands in total). The 702's are 7.9"w x 13.3"d and weigh 65 lb apiece. Dear Fellow Audiophile:
I will state that I was impressed with the Monolith 24 inch stands that I purchased, as they appear to be not only well finished aesthetically speaking, but also precisely machined such that they go together relatively easily, and are built surprisingly solidly, (and this is coming from an owner of a pair of "custom" "Sound Anchor" stands for a pair of Lipinski Sound monitors). I will also state that I purchased MY Monoliths for a pair of Audience Audio 1+1's), and after mounting the pillars to the base, elected to seal the bottoms of all the pillars with a fast hardening liquid rubber, and then painstakingly fully filling the pillars with sandbox sand, in order to add mass and maximally absorb any potential resonance. (The monoliths are now very dense/heavy(~40 lbs., and "inert")
Regarding YOUR application, I will assume that you would configure the stands side by side, (creating a width of 8.5 inches, as well as an "overall" depth of 16 inches), if the stand bases are flush with each other. My concern of course is the (at a minimum) 4 inch gap between the stand tops, (not that speaker stand plates would not accommodate the speaker base feet/spikes(?)), but the potential for for/aft wobbling or osculations when playing low and loud( +/-3dB @ 45 Hz.). IF the speaker stands are mounted on a hard/solid floor, they MIGHT be reasonably stable, (noting that each speaker weighs approx. 65Lbs.), HOWEVER, on carpet, (even if the speaker stands are on spikes), I would be somewhat cautious, if not leery). I would venture a guess that if you could SOLIDLY "strap" both the speaker stand bases, as well as in particular strapping the speaker stand top plates together, (RIGIDLY), the Monoliths might just be a great, economical choice., maintaining that both the bottom and top plates of the speaker stands remained parallel to each other, respectively.
You ARE aware of the low freq. changes effected by elevating the 702's ?

So you’re going to lay them on their sides? These will definitely work. I have some rather large bookshelf speakers, the dimensions of which are actually deeper and wider than the B&Ws, and they sit very nicely. I just used a little blutak to secure them and they’re solid as can be. I’d definitely fill the stands (sand, shot, kitty litter, whatever) and you’ll be very pleased. I’d mount the B&Ws with the tweeters toward the inside. Bass may suffer slightly since those are floor speakers and the ports, I believe, are at the bottom rear of the speaker, but overall I think these are as good as you’ll find without spending $500+. I couldn’t be happier with mine.

These are very sturdy speaker stands. By doubling them up there would be no problem holding 65 pounds. By pushing two stands together I'm not sure what the top mounting plate dimensions would be. The top plate can be mounted in two positions, slightly changing the mounting width. I don't see why these wouldn't work for what you want to do. The assembled stand sits right at 24". Make sure you have help lifting those heavy 702's into position!

The speaker stands are very heavy and sturdy and have a 1 ft.² base. Your speakers probably overlap on the top where they would sit but if they are distributed evenly they probably would do the job. However you did not say how tall the speakers are which could affect balance if they are too tall. My speakers are about 15 inches in height and have no Problem

I also purchased these to use with a pair of 702s. These are nice speaker stands, but too small to support the 702s. I ended up using a pair of end tables. I don't believe that you could use 2 speaker stands per speaker as the base of the speaker stand is larger than the top platform.

How do the columns attach to the plates? Is there a rod going through the columns that provides something for the screws to mound into? As the columns are fillable the ends of the columns must be open yet the screw at the top appears to attach the plate to the top of the column.
Paul R
on Mar 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Each end attaches using two short screws. The bottom ends are plugged by a plate with two threaded screw holes. There are very thin gaps along the sides, but you can seal them up with a little silicon caulk to prevent any fill from passing through. The top ends are not completely plugged, but instead have a narrow steel strip containing the two threaded screw holes. The gap on either side is wide enough to insert the end of a small funnel for adding the fill.
I just recently purchased these stands. They are very well made, stable, and fairly heavy even before filling. I filled mine with Play Sand I got at Lowe's. I filled each column with 3 lbs 12oz of sand, which filled it to about 3" or so from the top. Total of 15 lbs per stand, so one bag (50 lb) will do it.
TIP: If you use sand for fill, heat it in the oven to remove all moisture before adding it to the stand columns.

TIP: If you use sand for fill, heat it in the oven to remove all moisture before adding it to the stand columns.

There are four columns. Each column is shaped like a square if you look at it end-on. At each end of the column, a cross bar has been welded on. There are tapped screw holes in the cross bars. There are four holes in the top plate, to attach one screw for each column.
The bottom plate is made the same way, except that there are two screws for each column, for a total of eight holes in the bottom plate.
You can fill each column from either the top or the bottom. You might find it easier to put the bottom plate on first, and fill from the top, since you only then have only four screws to line up to get the top plate on. Instead of the eight you would have to line up if you put the top plate on first, and fill before attaching the bottom plate.

The columns have solid plates welded into bottom with threaded holes for the baseplate screws. The top of the columns also have threaded plates but those don't cover the whole cross-sectional area like the bottom. Gaps are provided on the sides of the plates if you want to fill them, but with the weight of theses already I didn't find it necessary. I actually drilled holes in one column to feed the wire through as these offer no wire management out of the box.

The columns are threaded and the plate is just screwed on. I decided not to put sand, kitty litter or whatever to the columns. The weight of the stands are substantial. I found it unnecessary to add any weight. Working quite nicely for my KEF LS50s.

There are metal pieces across the ends of the columns with threaded holes. The screws go through the plates and into those holes to secure them. They can be filled through the openings beside the metal cross pieces on the ends of the columns.

Can the columns be filled with sand?

BEST ANSWER: Yes. The bottom end of the columns is plugged completely by a steel plate containing two threaded holes for the attaching screws. There are very narrow gaps along the edges, but they can be sealed up nicely with a little silicon caulk before attaching the columns to the base. The top end of each column has large gaps through which you can fit the end of a small funnel for adding the sand.

It's not completely sealed on the bottom, so I would not recommend dumping fine sand in the columns. These columns are pretty heavy, you might not even feel like you need to do this. I'd use sand in zip-lock bags to keep it from getting messy.

Can I mount B&W 606 On these?

BEST ANSWER: Yes these will fit quit nicely placed on the Monolith stands. However, I do recommend placing at least four (4) "pea-sized" rolled balls of Bostick Blu-Tack under your B&W before placing it on the stands. The Blu-Tack improves the integrity between monitor speaker and stand. For example, if the stand is bumped or tipped the speaker will not fall off. The Monolith's are the best stand I ever purchased for the money. You can spend way more, but these are excellent. Enjoy, Will

BEST ANSWER: My ELAC DBR62's are surprisingly stable on top of these. Slipping is not an issue for me and knocking them over requires the force to be close to the top of the speaker. I wouldn't trust it if small children were present however, especially knocking them over doesn't require that much force of it's in the right place. I haven't felt the need for it but double-sided tape may provide even more stability. I recommend these stands.

Most speakers come with stick on feet to keep them from slipping. If you’ve got someone like a yoga mat, anti fatigue mat, or some kind of rubbery material, you can cut it to the size of the surface to help keep them from slipping and maybe provide a little isolation.
Filling the legs about halfway with sand or another material will also help stabilize the stands.
Blu-tack is another option.

Each stand came with little foam triangles that you place on the corners, this provides a limited slip hold for speakers. Between the weight of your speaker and the weight of the stand, it should be sufficient enough to keep them in place. There is not a bolt on feature that some stands have included from other companies

These are no different than any other speaker stand. There is a generous 6x8.5" steel plate. Most people would use rubber or gel feet as an interface to prevent slippage, although the weight of the speaker is usually sufficient to keep it in place.

Can a hole be drilled in the bottom and at the top of the support tube so one can run the speaker wires inside the Speaker Stand?
A shopper
on Feb 6, 2023
There is no reason I can think if why you can't do this. Just be careful about where you drill the holes since there are braces/attachment points inside the columns. Also, this will cause some problems if you are going to fill the columns with sand or cat litter since you are creating a potential leak.

The weight is not an issue. This stand can easily support far more than 30 lbs. The issue is stability. It is common for the top plates of speaker stands to be smaller than the base dimension of the speakers. This allows you to place the speakers on them and see only the speaker and not the base plate of the stand. However, as the base of the speaker becomes larger in comparison to the top plate, it becomes easier to knock the speaker off the top plate. We use a speaker with a base larger than the speaker you have asked about with no stability problems at all. If the speaker is not to be moved very often, you can use Blu Tack, a reusable adhesive, to keep the speaker from being knocked off the stand.

My speakers are larger than the top plate and they are totally fine. I actually like the way it looks with the speaker being larger. These are super sturdy and will likely hold your speakers just fine.

Is it possible to order additional floor plates to replace the speaker plates?
The stands are perfect, but the floor plate has the dimensions I need to support my speakers (Wharfedale EVO 4.2)
Stand Floor Plate (10W x 12D)
Speaker Base (9.8W x 13D)

BEST ANSWER: The top plate does not necessarily have to be larger than the speaker base. I mounted my B&W speakers to them with bolts and blu tack and they’re stable. Dogs have only been able to nudge them around a bit when they’re wrestling.

No, I would just buy the stands and use the floor plates, they are not that expensive

Do you find the 24" height to be a little low to put the bookshelf tweeter at ear level? Seems most sofas and chairs will have you sitting higher than that.

BEST ANSWER: For a lot of speakers this height will be fine.

Ideal front speaker height = ear height while seated. An 11" tall speaker like the Monolith Air Motion 5, would put the top of the speaker at 35". Most tower speakers range from 35" - 43"

Great stands for the money.
These stands are my second pair because I find them to be attractive, sturdy and a reasonable price. Once filled with sand, they are solid and planted to the floor. The improvement to the sound of one's speakers is amazing when they are put on stands. I'm very happy with my purchase and highly recommend these speaker stands.

Best high quality speaker stand for the price. I added sand inside of the hallow tubes for more stability.

Cheap, sturdy, reasonably attractive
These assembled in a flash and are of excellent quality for the price. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on stands unless you need a specific aesthetic.

Best value out there for speaker stands. Filled all 4 columns with sand and they are rock solid. Very well made and packaged. Zero complaints here.

Assembly was quick and easy / would buy again
Had a bit of Fisheye on one post however, was able to do a 180 and hide.

Unbelievable Quality
I own a pair of Bowers &Wilkins speakers stands that I have my B&W's on. Perfect stands. I bout as a package with my speakers. Great quality and solid. I just bought some Buchardt S400MK2's and needed new stands. Purchased two different sets to try. the Kanto's, and the KEF, both about 400-500 bucks for two. The B&W's are 275 separately. I tried a pair from Crutchfield that were cheap and 175, sent back. I sent the Kanto's and KEF's back too. Not worth any where near the price they charge. I almost bought another pair of B&W's but tried the Monolith's. Can't hurt to try. Holy S++t!!!! Solid, heavy, flawless paint and beautiful when put together. For a fraction of the cost. 24" for 55 bucks each. 55 BUCKS! Come on! 110 plus tax, free shipping.. Tells you how much of a ripoff some of these audio companies are. I own a low profile subwoofer from Monolith and paid next to nothing for it. Same exact result. Perfection! Do yourself a favor and buy Monolith. You won't regret it. Ten stars if they had that many.

Absolutely Rock Solid Stands
These stands are absolutely rock solid and look great. In addition, when you consider the price of other competing stands of this quality, they're a real bargain. Highly recommended.

Looks Great and Sturdy
This speaker stand is as advertised. It has a very nice appearance and is very well made. The only improvement I would suggest is to add a hole in which the speaker wire can go through the base. This would have the advantage of covering the hole in the floor where I routed the wire to my AV component. I would definitely recommend this product.
