I contacted the OEM and there is a firmware update available to remove them. I was sent a firmware update package link to use. You need a serial cable adapter to update the firmware.

I'm curious how this device handles image sizing on Modes 3, 4, and 5. Does it perform cropping of the sources so as to fit into those configurations? Or does it letterbox/pillarbox as needed?

How does this thing behave with less than 4 inputs? If I only had 2 or 3 inputs, and put it on Mode 5, would the other 1 or 2 be blank? Or just not show up?

Does this support 5.1 audio pass-through via HDMI? I'd like to be able to use a receiver after this switch for surround sound. It's not clear if the 2.0 audio is only for the 3.5mm port or if it prevents 5.1 pass-through. Thanks!

Great for watching multiple sports at once.
Exceptionally useful for doing a 4 way split screen ("quadview") for watching multiple games or sporting events at once. There are many view modes, but only a few of them are worthwhile, the others don't make sense for most sources - you use these, 16:9 content will be stretched. I peuse 4 Chromecasts and then cast 4 sources to each of them.
I would have expected to pay a lot more than $150 for this before I learned about this product.
Supports 1080p60fps and 4k30fps. You can select a single source for audio, then rotate around to have the desired audio feed.
I considered docking a star for the weird aspect ratio in view modes that results in stretching, but you can just ignore them.
For the prior review that mentioned the display info (e.g resolution and framerate) displaying permanently), my unit purchased in March 2022 does not behave like that....the info goes away after a few seconds.
For the future: Please make an affordable 4K60fps version. I'd buy one of those too.

Works great for sports
Purchased for the upcoming football season. Works great, outputs a 4K picture combining 4 1080 inputs. Mode 2 and mode 5 work best.

The switch has met or exceeded my expectations. An inexpensive option in the HDMI 4x1 space without any annoying labels. I can't say too much about latency, but it has been okay playing games and doing development work.

Good 1080p quadview
This unit works well to show 4 screens at once, as others have stated, the other view modes do not display the video signals well as they are stretched weird. I currently have 4 1080p signals(roku sticks) hooked up to it and it works fine to watch 4 signals at once on my projector. It would be nice if it had optic audio out so i could extract the audio for the soundbar. i had to use a separator audio extractor to do this. same goes for multiple video outputs would be nice as well but i got this to work again with an external hdmi splitter. Overall it works fine but is very basic. but for the money it cant be matched.

Overlays information on input signals
This multi-view is easy to use and has very simple set-up. I plugged in HDMI cables and was working in no time. That being said, it adds an input label with resolution information over each source, and has white lines dividing the sources in the various multi-view modes. My use case is for client-facing digital signage, so this unit did not fit my needs. It is best used for production monitoring and applications where that extra information is not a problem.
