From what I do understand, Nintendo Switch's USB-C port requires constant power supply while outputting to HDMI. You're better off looking for something that supply power while outputting.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, that's exactly the monitor I used it for, coming from a DP out on a Windows 10 PC. The monitor turned right on. Saw some users say that it required a restart or some tweaking with their display settings to work, so YMMV.

Apple say the LG Ultrafine 5K is "strictly USB-C" so I need a cable adaptor from my Dell Aurora R12 to this LG-sold-by-Apple monitor.
The Dell has a port called "USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C" and need to find a cable for that, which works at 5K.
I have an IT helping me, but need all the ideas we can find. Thank you:)

Defective cable, but great customer service
Cable ceased to work for no apparent reason after using it for just one week. It was connecting a Mac mini to a monitor. The monitor stopped receiving a signal. I tested other cables, all of which worked just fine to connect the Mac to the monitor. I tested the defective cable with other devices. It was very clear the cable no longer functioned. Despite the defective cable, I must say my experience with Monoprice's customer service was quick and easy. They refunded the purchase in a very timely manner. Five stars to the customer service team at Monoprice.
