BEST ANSWER:HI. It depends on the port on your external battery. My external batteries have female usb a ports, so I would need a usb c male to usb a male, not female. I purchased the described item to connect to a male usb a cable. I suggest you look at your battery and see what it needs. Ruth

Works fine for my application. Not sure how it will hold up, will see. I am using it to connect SSD to phone (Samsung S9) for reviewing car's camera footage. So I don't use it that often, rarely. Just there if I need it.
.worked first few times I used it without issue .seems fairly sturdy .length could be a bit longer
Excellent adapter; perfect size to carry with a laptop.
The extension cable works perfectly. It's about 5-6 in long, including the connectors, very good for laptop usage. I was able to connect and SSD and a HDD both to my HP X360 laptop, which has only one 3.0A connector. I did not test it for speed, but I did not see any appreciable delays. It was not a good test, however, because I had the HDD, not the SSD, on the side of the adaptor. But it performed as expected. I certainly recommend it.

The product looks just like the picture. Sorry, I don't have photo to share, but the reasoning behind the purchase followed a purchase of a new HP PC without a dvd writer, so I have to use my external one. Unfortunately, HP didn't plan enough standard usb ports, so my mouse/keyboard combo took up one, my dvd the other, so now I have a 4 port hub to run the other peripherals, and I was out of accessory options. This adaptor takes care of the mouse, I have the 4 port hub and a spot for my dvd rewriter. Caught me off guard after I set it up, but the adptor solved my problem. Very Happy!
