What is the depth of the platform surface?
New User U
on Aug 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you are referring to the "thickness" of the platform, or perhaps the "height" when resting on a flat surface, it's just about 7/8" with the included rubber feet attached (these are visible in the photos). The actual material from which the platform is made is very thin, but as you can see from the photos it appears to be thicker because of the rolled edges. The bottom of the platform is actually hollow. Without the rubber feet it will rest about 1/2" above the surface your desk.

It is 13" by 24.5". I assume by "depth" you mean front to back, which is 13 inches.

Just like it says in description, 13.2" (well 13", the edge is curved)

Hello! I have a sturdy wooden desk that I covered with a glass top to protect the surface. Could I still attach the mount? Thank you!
A shopper
on Feb 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it might be best to consult with the glass top manufacturer. We cannot recommend using this directly on glass though because it's hard to tell what clamping pressure the glass top could tolerate, plus there is a chance that the mount could transfer more pressure to certain parts of the base when cantilevered force is applied to the mount.

This arm uses a clamp to hold onto the desk. If your desk has a lip that allows you to place the clamp and the lip is between 0.4 inches and 3.6 inches high, you should be fine. However, if your desk is flush at the top and there is no lip, you won’t be able to clamp the arm onto it.

I am personally using the clamp method of mounting this to my desk, I am pretty sure it would work even if there was a glass top. but its hard to say for sure yes on your desk. you would need roughly 5-6 inches free on top and under your desk to mount the clamp.

Yes, the mount should still attach, however the pressure exerted by the clamp may crack the glass, as there is a lot of force on the clamp.

Hi, how stable is a laptop on this stand? Can I type on the laptop and use its trackpad? Or will it wobble and bounce around? Thanks.
A shopper
on Nov 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It depends what it is mounted to and how you use a keyboard. It's not rock solid, but it is fairly stiff once you adjust the tension. This unit is massive and well built.

It wobbles a little but I type and use the trackpad or mouse fine. When in the elevated position the pressure control has to be quite high to keep it from slowly sinking.

Its pretty stable. I have a good sized gaming laptop on mine, and run a mouse on the side of it. A little wobble, but not bad for the weight I have on it.

Can this be mounted with lag bolts into a countertop with no lip over hang to clamp to?

on Jul 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, yes this can be mounted that way. You would need through holes on the counter top, and access to the bottom. This product includes hardware for through hole mounting, you can get more details by checking out the manual that is linked in this product page, steps 1b-1 to 1b-2. Thanks for checking.

Does the shelf raise high enough to allow a second laptop to be placed below? At least 15 inches clearance?
A shopper
on Aug 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it sits as high as you want it to, and definitely clears 15 in, though it is meant to be situated with the arm angled exactly parallel with the desk/floor, rather than bent, so it probably won't have maximum tension/hold at that height.

Workstream by Monoprice Height-Adjustable Sit-Stand Laptop Desk Mount

Workstream by Monoprice Table Top for Sit-Stand Height Adjustable Desk, 6ft White

Workstream by Monoprice Sit-Stand Dual-Motor Height Adjustable Table Desk Frame, Electric, Gray
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the sit-stand desk would be able to work with your power grid, but the plug is two-prong US-type and might not be compatible. Unfortunately we do not have shipping to Hong Kong at the moment. International shipping for these items via UPS would also cost more than $1000 USD and might be cost prohibitive . An alternative might be to consider a reshipper or parcel forwarding service if there is such a business serving your local market. Thank you.

I would like to lift my laptop about 24-28 inches off my desk surface. My desk itself is 24 inches deep and this would need to attach to the back of the desk I assume. Is that much lift possible or would the laptop be unsteady? If this was not suitable, do you have another product which would do this?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, you don't have to be constrained with mounting this on the edge of the desk since it's possible to mount using a through-hole so to position the base within the desk area. On the vertical height, this mount maxes with the laptop platform at 20.4" above the mounting surface. The best solution would probably be to start with a taller mounting surface, or use something like Product 15723. If that's not possible, Product 15717 or 15718 are mounts with tall height adjustment ranges, but their platforms were primarily designed for a keyboard so they won't be as stable.

What happens when the laptop is picked up? Does the arm spring up because there's less weight on it?
Matthew S

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
No, this would maintain its height when you remove your laptop from it.
The weight adjustment would only make it easier or harder to move the stand up or down.

BEST ANSWER: Hi, this product is designed more to go up higher than your desk as a sit-stand solution for laptops, so it won't be ideal if your primary need is to go lower than your desk, where this product will have very limited range because the first segment is fixed at an upright position.
For products that might be able to help you with positioning your second keyboard below your desk, you could consider products 15718, 15717 and 15706 although these products were primarily designed to mount both keyboard and monitor and so may be too big for your application. You could also consider our 24639 keyboard tray product. Hope this helps.

Great Value small design issues
Really like it so far! Is strong and stable and is easy to move up and down. Only issues: was a bit of a pain to run cables with the Philips screw capped cable cover on the back with my desks back wall. Same for the clamp on the bottom, but got her done. Rubber feet fell off since I didn't have it resting for long enough on the desktop. GREAT VALUE!!! I integrate systems professionally and the "name brand" standard stuff is 5 times the price.

Decent, but way bigger than expected
It's very well made and solid, but much much larger than expected. My own fault for not looking at the dimensions more closely, but I will not be able to use for its intended purpose. And return shipping costs enough that its not worth it. Would have been nice to see a picture of it installed and in use.

Highly recommended both because of price and functionality.
I love this stand. It was delivered very quickly. It was easy to install and came with multiple options for installation. I installed it without assistance using the clamp mounting system. It also has the option to be permanently mounted by drilling holes into the desk surface. The one thing I would say is be sure that you have clearance on the desk surface to mount it. My first attempt was to mount between my desk surface and the back wall of the cubicle. There was not enough room. I mounted it to the side return instead, which works well because there is a large articulation range with this unit.
