Will this Product #2675 work for plugging in a VGA monitor to a DVI switch, along with Product # 5910 (DVI-A to SVGA cable, https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10209&cs_id=1020905&p_id=5910&seq=1&format=2) ? Product #5910 DVI-A to SVGA cable will not fit into my DVI switch. Will it fit into the female end of this adapter? If so will the signal work?
I was hoping to connect a DVI monitor to the spare VGA port on my machine. Figured this was a quick, cheap way to do that. Unfortunately it did not work. Windows recognized something was connected, but there was no output to the monitor. Had to resort to a straight VGA-to-VGA cable.
Would you happen to have the make and model of the monitor you are trying to connect? If the monitor has a DVI-D port, it will not work with this adapter as this adapter is intended for displays that accept an analog DVI signal rather than digital. Also, what other output ports are does your computer provide? I apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your feedback. Please let me know the make and model of the display so that I may better assist you. Thank you in advance!
