BEST ANSWER: I’ve only used MSB on a usb powered port on a Mac Mini, it appears the power is being supplied through the USB port of the Mac Mini.

The mDP port is the only connection other than the 2 HDMI ports. As for power, the connecting monitors have their own power supply.

BEST ANSWER: Yes and no. I’m using it with my 21”IMac. It will work amazingly, however it doesn’t allow for two different displays like what I bought it for. Rather, it doubles the display. So you can have two different screens, but that’s it. Like I’ve got my iMac screen and one other. The two ports on this unit display the exact same thing. Idk, it is possible that maybe my Mini DisplayPort is to old and that this does support two different screens. Hopefully this helps.

BEST ANSWER: Apple does not support Multi-Stream Transport, which means that this adapter will not give you the capability to run two extended displays on an Apple computer.

The Macbook Air uses Thunderbolt, which is related to, but not completely compatible with Displayport. You may want to switch to a Thunderbolt splitter.

I read from a different vendor that Mac OS X does not support Extended Desktop using MST technology, it will only mirror the displays. Can someone confirm that I can use extended desktop from Mac OS X to two monitors with this device?

BEST ANSWER: You might, but that's a question for MS tech support. Bear in mind that this will work with the right video card. It does work with my Lenovo laptop and works in the extended mode just fine.

Will this split a signal from a Microsoft Surface Pro docking station mini displayport into a 1080P TV monitor and a flat-screen computer monitor shown simultaneously while the other docking station output goes from mini displayport to VGA? Essentially having 3 monitors running at the same time.

Using my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro I'm trying to send HDMI to a movie projector AND a HDMI Soundbar system. I've confirmed that both devices work via HDMI independently; will this splitter output two identical signals (it seems to suggest so)? My hope is that with this single adapter/splitter the projector will ingest both video and audio signals (I will simply turn down/off the volume from the projector's internal speakers) and the soundbar will interpret the 5.1 audio. Will this device help me accomplish this? Thank you.

I have an iMac 2015 running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and I need an adapter that will allow me to connect 2 external monitors mini displayport to hdmi. I work from home and need monitors in order to have different content on each. If this device won't work is there one you can please recommend? I've been searching everywhere. Also preferably an adapter that doesn't require a driver download would be perfect.

More of a splitter than a Dual Monitor
Having a very difficult time figuring out how to get it into separate dual monitor mode on a Mac. It seems to live in mirroring mode, showing up to the mac as only one 4K monitor. Otherwise works perfectly, and a good value. It says it can do 2x 4K as one double-wide monitor, but have not figured out how. The manual didn't help.

Monoprice 2-Port HDMI MST device enhances my workstation desk
I have a MS Surface Pro2 that I wanted dual extended monitors with the Surface Pro screen. This will be my workstation desk configuration. Using this Displayport 2-Port HDMI MST device does this perfectly and enhances my productivity.

Perfect purchase!

just got it (little late) but worked without a glitch
Received it on Monday, when I was supposed to receive on Friday. That aside, I was trying to use this with my Surface Pro which has on display port with multple monitors without having to spend a lot for a docking station. Worked like a charm no drivers to install, just worked. Now I have 3 monitors including the laptop's
