BEST ANSWER: All signals are transferred from one style of connector to the other; none are omitted like some "charger only" cables, so it should work.

BEST ANSWER: I have one of these and it is nice to change a USB 3.0 to USB-C. They are completely identical, except one seems to be about to. Be removed, it has 0 comments or questions or even specs. The other listing has all the details, questions and reviews. Looks like a product got listed twice.

Will this adapter work with Yubico USB A Security key (USB A) on a phone with USB C only? All security 2FA functionality? This for banking apps.

Thank you for your inquiry. This device hasn't been tested specifically for this setup. However, if the Security key works off USB-A without extra requirements then this should work perfectly.

Will this work with my new imac that has usb 3 and thunderbolt ports? I want to connect my older Western Digital My Passport for use in Time Capsule. My Passport cable has Micro B connector and the other end of the cable is a type A ( which would connect to my old 2013 imac ). Hoping I can plug the C adapter into imac port and then connect My Passport using it's original cable and connecting the type A male into this adapter.

Works as expected

I got two to charge my phone and connect a USB stick in my car, both functions work great. Despite leaving the adapter plugged in all the time, the USB stick's presence is only detected by my car once it's plugged in, as I'd hoped. It just works as expected.

Monoprice USB Type-A to USB Type-C Adapter - User Comment

With more-and-more vendors moving toward USB-C plugs, I find many of my USB-A cables were getting technically obsolete. However, with the adapter, I am still able to use the older cables and peripherals (e.g., USB mouse) with equipment having the newer Type C sockets. Problem solved!
