BEST ANSWER: I have a Samsung s8+ and this adapter worked great for me. Not sure of the differences between these phones but I would imagine that anything with a usb-c input/output would work fine with this product.

no video after restart
We have a bunch of these adapters and we have found that they intermittently do not output video after the iMac restarts. If you unplug and replug the USBC with the HDMI cable connected, they still don't work. If you plug in the USBC without the HDMI cable connected, wait a few seconds, then plug in the HDMI, then it works. I think that because it is an active adapter it has to have power before the HDMI is connected. This is a drag to have to do every day. When it is working the video looks great.

Does not work with 4k monitor
Using the adapter with a brand new MacBook Pro, tried two different 4k monitors, both showed only a black screen. MacOS detected the adapter (but only allowed 30hz at 4k resolution, so even if it had worked, it wouldn't have worked smoothly).
The adapter did work with an older 1080p monitor, but that wasn't what I bought it for. Save your money, get the cheaper (hdmi 1.4) adapter.

DOES NOT OUTPUT 4K 60hz
The adapter being able to output 4K at 60hz is hugely misleading. Tried this adapter with a MacBook Pro, Chromebook, and with multiple different high-speed HDMI cables and it will only max out at 4K 30hz.
