Running 425ft outside to get internet to my barn, what do I need? I know it's supposed to be gel filled, solid strand but I'm unsure of the Mhz

BEST ANSWER: I suspect you've found out by now but for anyone else looking at this question, 328 feet (100 meters) is the limit of a single connection. You'll need some kind of repeater in the middle of that run in order to get this to work. It would be much easier for you to do use line-of-sight wireless bridge to jump the gap with a WiFi access point inside the barn. No 425ft trench to be dug, no repeater, no worries about someone cutting the line by accident, etc. Many of the point-to-point systems are the same price as this spool of cable.

Does this cable use the standard RJ45 Plugs or will it need plugs that can handle a larger diameter wire?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
As long as the plugs would take solid Cat 6 cable you could use them with this cable.
You can find that under #7266.

Stops working when it gets wet
I know the title may be hard to believe. However, I've had issues with this cable for over a month and have been painstakingly troubleshooting the problem. Every time it rains, my PoE devices stop working. I have to go out, physically dry off the outer jacket of the cable, and plug the devices back in before they will work again. Outdoor, direct burial, gel filled, pure copper cable should not stop working when it gets wet.

OK
The cable is as described and works well. BUT, there is no "rip cord" to assist in cutting back the cable ends for connectorization. Just be careful not to cut the conductors.

excellent cable for my application
Monoprice continues to be the "go to" shop for my network cabling needs. I've been consistently happy with all that i have purchased from them. Hope they are around for a long time since i have many projects planned in the future.
