I have read that the heated print pad can hit 110C, but it quickly becomes a fire hazard, the Melzi board cannot handle that much current. Is this still the case or has this been corrected ?
    New User U on Sep 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is still the case. Do the mosfet upgrade if you want to go that high.

BEST ANSWER: It has to be manually leveled by four turn screws
how big of a table would be recommended to put this on?
    Adam S on Apr 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The desk or table top size? Depends how much room you think you need around it. The frame is 15” deep, plus another 3” on back for loose wire clearance. I have mine on a 24” deep glass table top, and feel that it is very adequate. I plan to enclose it soon, with a popular series of mini tables, and those are 21.625” wide/deep. The frame is 16” wide, no cables protruding.
    Does this model come assembled?
    A shopper on Aug 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Partly, and some of them seem to come more assembled than others. My printer was less assembled than the same model a friend of mine ordered at the same time. Assembly is supposed to require only six screws. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
    What is the frame material?
    New User U on May 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: stamped steel....(I think) this is my small printer It loan to friends to get them involed..it works well and does a good job.. Go to youtube and learn how to bed level and you can see unpacking videos for this machine.
What is the footprint of the entire machine?
    A shopper on Mar 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If the controller box is pressed up against the main unit, the width is 21" and the depth is 16".

There is a common mod that makes use of the cheap 'Lack' side tables that allows you to make an enclosure. This would make the footprint 21" x 21".

I really love it and am happy with my purchase. I have made some mods including the z brace and class bed. This is a duplicate to the wanhou i3 printer. Many many YouTube videos of both printers. Check them out. Enjoy

    Great for the Price
So far I have printed alot of stuff on this. I have 3d printed molds on it which is cool. Make sure your print bed is level because if not your prints will not come out right. I like to use build plate adhesion on Cura because it helps the item stick to the bed. Overall for the money it is great. Use the Pursa I3 in Cura as the printer and it works perfect.

I have had a few failed print, but that happens on expensive printers.

Cant go wrong for the price.

Get into 3D Printing for a song...
    1) The printer does a great job out of the box. Follow the setup instructions and you will be delighted by the result.
    2) The spool holder can be too short for full rolls so the first thing you can print with the included filament is a set of these: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2047554. Problem solved.
    3) The one I purchased has been printing for about 5 days straight, day and night with 1-3 hour breaks, since I set it up and I've only has one bad print caused by me not cleaning the extruder well enough.
    4) If you have already owned a 3D printer with a ton of features like wireless printing and all, don't buy this printer and think that its a good replacement. This is a Ford Pick-up, not a Bentley. If you want Bentley features, pay a Bentley's price tag.

A few hiccups but overall worth the purchase
A washer for the spool and stickers for the prints were missing and the Bowden tube clogged pretty quickly. Otherwise been a great printer. Made plenty of good prints so far.

Overall Good Starter Printer; Not Great
It's a printer, that after a lot of fidgeting will work correctly. Out of the box the vertical alignment was off, which meant forcing one of the two vertical motors to grind while the other became level.

The software out of the box is not good, I suggest using CURA, this is much more successful.

Next I bough this bundled with the 1.75M 1kg spools that Monoprice also makes, and sells. Unfortunately, the spool holder (mind you this is also made my Monoprice) does not support their own 1kg spool width! My first print was babying a new spoolholder adapter - there goes a few hours of print time and a bunch of filament... sweet.

My last issue is a bit more of a design issue on the UI for the machine. When you want to print, adjust settings, or do anything else to the machine you have a single knob with a single 'click' input to do it. It would have been nice to have up down arrows with an 'ok' and 'back' button. Oh yeah, and to cancel a print you have to unplug the machine completely, no 'nice way' to fail.

Those were the major issues I had out of the box. Now that I have fixed all of the initial issues it has been consistently printing well for the 5 medium-large prints that I have done. The only time I will fail a print is when the filament does not stick to the bed initially, which either means I need to clean the heated tray with alcohol or that the print bed and nozzle are not properly distanced.

It's a solid 3/5 stars. It caused me a lot of stress at first, but now it gets the job done. I have a lot of gripes about the machine, but once you get used to it and have the proper settings it will do anything you ask of it. Make sure you use CURA and level your bed and it shouldn't give you any problems.

    A good value
Printed some test pieces and for the money and teaching kids about 3D printing, it cannot be beat. Bed leveling is hard and overall instructions are not what they should be. I really appreciated third party YouTube videos. You guys should make a comprehensive video.

Decent price, tons of aftermarket parts and online forums/feedback/FYI. Never looked back after purchase.
I was eyeballing a 3D printer for years, and it just so happens that this finally fell into my budget. Nothing but great things. You need to be aware, this will take some tinkering. Mine being a refurb, I had to take my brass nozzle off, and char it in open flame (there was previously burnt residue left and was jamming the nozzle). Got the all metal hot-end, and a glass bed top, it has been a dream ever since. So glad I finally took the plunge and treated myself to this printer. I love to wrench and wire, so this has been a stellar purchase.

    The Fearless Tinkerer's Dream
After installing all of 4 screws and connecting 5 wires, the printer is ready to start printing parts. Having said that it is not even close to printing optimally. There are loads of forums and posts on what you need to do to your printer.

Great buy for a beginning 3D print hobbiest. Use the savings for upgrades!!!
The referbished printer I received appeared almost new. Light wear marks were visible but the printer worked like a charm. The support groups online for this printer are extensive. I would recommend buying a referbished model and use your savings to start the needed upgrades for this printer (mosfet, z brace, cooling fans etc) even when purchased as "new".
