Are the clips also made of steel?
A shopper
on Mar 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Plastic for the two things on the side. They are relatively flimsy, but they don't need to be strong. Currently I actually have them pulled way out to the sides because they're not really needed, and it can make it harder to put the laptop on and take it off.

Would this work to hold a 12” iPad Pro?
Rod B
on Aug 5, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It could really hold any device. All it is is a platform (think like how an easel works) with two rubber feet at the bottom to support whatever you out on it. There are two movable rubber arms in the sides to sort of secure what you have on, though they are largely set for the thickness of a laptop. Unless you plan to use this at a 90 degree angle, the arms aren't really necessary.

It is very adjustable. At first I was concerned because I thought it wouldn't fit my wife's work laptop which is a 17 inch. It does, barely.
I just checked and the adjustable restraints will go down to around 10 inches. A MacBook Pro 12" should be 11 inches wide, so I think you're golden.

We use it with a Microsoft Surface Pro X which slightly bigger so from a size perspective it should work. It's not perfect for tablets but it works well enough.

This is laptop holder has fixed vesa mount plate. The angle is fixed. So the monitor arm needs to be able to pivot at the mound point (most do). then you can tilt.

This mount only has a 100mm VESA connection on the back. You’d have to find an adapter or series of adapters that would get you from that to your tube clamp.

what is the maximum weight for the laptop placed on the stand?
Andrew O
on Jul 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, there is no specific maximum weight for this laptop holder. The limit would instead depend on the maximum weight that the monitor mount, where this laptop holder will attach to, would be able to handle. The main structure of this holder is made of steel so it would handle any laptop computer that would fit. Thanks for checking.

Monoprice Dual Monitor Free Standing Adjustable Desk Mount for Monitors 15~30in
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this could work but it might not be an ideal setup since detaching the laptop could upset the balance, especially if your monitor is attached closer to the edge of the mount. Hello, would you advise if we can order the articulating arms with 100mm VESA mount only (without the desk mount pole)? We'd like to add these arms to the existing workstations along with the Laptop holder attachments. Please also confirm the inner diameter of the collar to be 2" for 2" OD pole. Thank you.

Perfect for Getting your Laptop at an Ideal Angle and Clearing Desk Space
This product is amazing and exactly what I needed to angle my laptop appropriately, and the added desk space is more than welcome. Assembly was super straightforward and it seems like it should fit just about any laptop. Metal construction is solid and should last a very long time.
I recommend against using it with a spring-type arm, as it will raise up every time you remove your laptop. After switching to a standard arm, it's been completely perfect.

Good, i recommend
This is a good secure option to mount a laptop up off the desk via a Visa mount or arm. The side clips to secure the laptop are good to have but unnecessary & I?ll likely remove them altogether since I don?t need my laptop to be mounted in extreme angles or heights that would put it in danger of falling. I also don?t have pets or kids that could potentially knock it off the mount. If you do then these clips are fine although they prevent you from being able to close your laptop lid while they?re securing your computer. I?d recommend this product.

Works really with the arms. Not a big fan of the "locks" that hold the laptop into place. They seem to be designed with intent of leaving them in place for the same laptop. I share an office with my wife and we switch out different seized laptops. Overall, I do like the stand. Easy install.

Great holder. At first the hydraulic arm would raise up when I removed the laptop, but now it stays put. Dont know why. I hooked it to the desk so it wouldnt raise up at first. But the holder is cool. And I didnt need the side clips at all.

Sturdy, mostly steel, except for some parts in the joints.
The problem was with the shipping. It auto-corrected the apt# out of the address. I put the apt# in the "business name" section just to be safe, but that was omitted from the shipping label.
The package sat in my buildings lost-letter room for several days.
